monty is a great guitar player,misses too many notes but I do love his playing.This song is beautiful and Monty writes great songs also...But Tommy is,in my opinion, by far a better player.Maybe the best in the world. Joscho Stephan and Tommy are amazing together.
When Tommy wants to he can rock with the best of them. I've seen he and his brother Phil, rock the ass off a couple of Strats before and play AC/DC better than AC/DC themselves.
Two of the best acoustic guitar players on earth. For real. I have to say Tommy Emmanuel is cleaner and more concise but takes fewer risks and is less innovative. But come on... both of these dudes are off the hook
@hulksjedi they both jammed pretty equally...they seemed to traid off and complement each other very well. look at their faces, they were having fun. quite making deals were none should be made.
Bad Percussionist... He allowed the tempo to rush horribly during all of the solo sections. Unfortunate really, as I would have preferred to hear them at the song's appropriate tempo. Still, obviously, an amazing boast of the master stringsmens' beautiful talents.
I saw Tommy just last weekend, he is one of my favorites. But... it really depends on your perspective (in response to your comment), Monte Montgomery is one of the best finger style players in the world, just like Tommy Emmanuel. They are both masters, just different stylistically.
They are simply different. Tommy is my favorite and I also personally consider him better, but that is a debatable issue I think, he just suits my taste more. Monte has done some incredible playing, just as fast and just as technical. He is widely regarded as one of the best in the world, just like Tommy. He is not as well known though.
