- This is a box stock Blade 330s from Horizon Hobby. It has cool new telemetry features and is completely tunable for an advanced pilot. I just need to freshen my skills now. This heli flies awesome. Get your new Blade helicopter from Horizon Hobby with this link. www.tkqlhce.co...
My face just melted. You've put in a lot of practice!
Good job bro
That's sick that's why i am getting one awesome video and stay safe
Any chance you could put all your Heli's on a table and discuss them, compare/contrast them? Not too many videos like that around. Would be cool!
That would be a really big table. All helis are like women. They are all different and want different things from you, at different times. Pretty true.
Stunt 2 she started speakin 😂 sounds so good i know im late but good job man
Thank you for the tips ! Hopefully soon will be back in stock.
Always appreciated your videos. Helis are so addictive , never enough! You are a grrat 3d flyer too, i do only scale ( got a fuselage for it) .
Cheers !
I just got a blade 70 s my first little hobby grade full control helicopter, planning on upgrading to something like this one day
hey man, I just got into helis and picked up a used 330s that I had to fix up a little. Any chance you could help me tune it up? Im in Santee
Hey sir I was wondering can I use the spektrum flight control from this and put it in my goblin or my align 600?
You can, but you must change the firmware to the 5.6 open source program. This way you program it for that heli. Better watch my 6250 set up video for that. Spektrumrc channel has a good video on how to update your 6250hx.
Awesome flight Brother!! 😍👍🚁
nice smooth flight
How do you adjust head speed? Is this like a Max rpm or max throttle setting on software? Sorry new to helis...
Awesome 👏 my 230s v2 can do that but I can’t lol
Hey sir I got the three blade set up and the same fuselage u got, do I need to adjust the trim for safe flight with it or will it be good to go??
I just fly mine on the stock settings. Check your directions and go at it. If you don’t have 3 matching blades, you will have to make one match the others with a blade balancer and some tape. Otherwise , I can’t remember where but I bought some 325mm scale 3 blade set on the web.
Okay sounds good thank you! You’re the man! I love your videos and thank u for your responses! I have the blade 360 also! I really wanna buy the 550 but I really would like to have atleast one safe mode to save something like that if I get in trouble. What pion gear do u recommend for the 330 and 360? 3s or 4s.
@@mikealakoehler7934 stock everything. 3s.
What’s your head speed in stunt 1 in this video also what is your paid gain set at in stunt 1?
It’s been a long time since I flew that heli but I remember setting stunt 1 about 85% throttle. Stunt 2 is 100% with this heli. The tail gain was whatever it is out of the box. It was brand new in that video. If you have tail wag, check your radio settings again, and if that doesn’t work, check that when you turn the heli on and it initializes that the tail rotor sets with the yoke in the middle of the tail shaft or slightly toward the boom. If the yoke is out at the tail blades, that is a left yaw and that is why it wags. It’s always trying to recenter itself. That’s all I do to that heli.
Little shakey today.. Come onnn that was awesome! I'd love to be able to fly 3d. I think this is the ideal heli for me to get, I can hover collective heli's no worries just never had the bottle to go beyond that and risking a crash, with this new SAFE mode I think this is ideal.
3D heli pilots make 4ch airplane pilots look like noobs. you have an amazing talent!
One hell of a pilot
Hello . Great flights. I love your flying style. I’m pulling up a Blade 330x and struggling to adjust all the links. Could you measure the center ball-joint distances for each links (swachplate front/right/left, feet of Blade and the double links of the front servo) with your caliper feet? That would be great!
Servo arms 90 degrees at center stick in hold mode with linear pitch curve. Adjust servo rod length so the see saw follower arm chingas is flat at center stick too. Now adjust the two blade grip links to make the blades flat 0 degrees at center stick. Always center servos first.
I just got one. Tried getting it set up on my nx8 last night. Seems everything is working correctly except in safe mode I have no throttle. Cant figure out why. Idle up modes work. Hold works. Got any idea?
Check normal mode throttle curve is 0,65,65,65,65
@@CoeShow619 it is. Everything is setup as per manual. Ive tried rebinding it. Safe is working. Rescue button works. Seems everything but throttle in safe mode is working.
@@CoeShow619 even in monitor mode you can see the throttle condition change. Nothing happens with the heli though.
@@DetoursRC rebind it so it knows where Safe throttle is. I don’t use Safe, but sounds like some kind of Spektrum safety thing. Rebind and try again.
@@CoeShow619 I tried again. Same. Ill call Horizon tmrw I guess. Id really rather not have to send it back since ive waited months to get it.
I'm sitting here waiting on mines it comes today! Man i can't wait to fly mines pending on how the weather is👍👍!!!
How is it man? Are you flying all around the neighborhood yet?
@@CoeShow619 Naw not yet still waiting it says it will arrive today so hopefully it will come today cause i have tomorrow off and the other hopefully the weather's ok here in Berkeley Ca,
@@CoeShow619 I got the rtf version i currently have a Blade 230 S V2 rtf I'm loving that one but I've been waiting for a bigger rtf with Safe features now they finally came with one
@@jonspikes4935 It's on now.
@@CoeShow619 Yessir
She flys sooo smooth!!!
Hi man, what bind do u use for ur 330, ? cause i bought Spektrum nx6 and 330s but im always controling him, vendor said to me radio and heli was binded and ready to fly, but yours is really smooth like hes flying straight etc, mine goes right, then left, thats a bit painful, can u advice me?
Low and smooth with a little collective snap. Just the way I like it. 😼👍
I love your ‘old man 3d’. Wish I could do it
get that 480 out homeboy. I'll tune it up tomorrow
what software do you use to adjust rates on a heli like this?
The Spektrum transmitter does all the adjusting. It’s not a drone software
@@CoeShow619 thanks for the reply.
I had to remove the flight controller on my 330s and install a spare ar7210bx I had lying around. I could not get rid of the tail wag from the stock flight controller no matter what i did. Tail is super solid now but I wish I could've got the stock unit to work. Oh well.
All you had to do was make sure the tail has a little right pitch in it. You could also use a longer servo horn, or adjust the PID gains in forward programming. Took me 5 minutes. But yes, I wish it was more correct out of the box
@@CoeShow619 I'll give it another try with a bit of right pitch and see if that fixes the issue.
Update. Tail already had a bit of right pitch in it. I WAS however finally able to update the firmware in my DX9 yesterday, so now I have FORWARD programming option along with a bunch of other new options throughout the menu. I see the Tail rotor option. Any advice on what I should mess with in the Tail Rotor option?
Try tightening up all the tail casing screws
@@jonspikes4935 Got it sorted out yesterday. Went into forward programming and lowered the "P" gain down to like 75 for idle up 1 and 65 for idle up 2. No more tail wag. Now I just need to figure out the stability settings. When I set it to stability in normal the heli wants to move forward at a hover and I'm constantly pulling back on the sticks to keep it in place.
Just got mine today the RTF version but I don’t know how to setup the tail
TLR CAMP Fold tail blades like a V. Rotate head to point the V toward the front of the heli. Turn on the radio. Turn on the heli and let it set. Don’t move it. The tail blade closest to the ground should be pointed toward the boom , which makes right pitch. Fly it first to see if you even need an adjustment. RTF should be fine.
CoeShow619 thank you I’ll try that, also when I turn on the radio & heli I tried centering the tail servo but every time I center it-it just keeps moving on it’s on
I wish you could somehow teach me to fly, I still have new-in-box a Blade 130s, Blade 230s V2, that I’m afraid to even hover. I’m flying a Blade 70s and Nano s2 for now. I really enjoy your flight videos, thanks.
Practice makes perfect dude. I was a drug addict. Now I'm a heli addict. Every day, all the time. If you can hover that 70s, you can fly that 230s in Stable/Normal mode, no problem. Program it just like the manual says, and get that bad boy hovering at the park. Give yourself some room, and calm down and focus. It's like learning to ride a bike. pretty soon, you take the training wheels off, then it's on. Hover tail in first. You are in the pilot seat. Left is left, right is right, now hover left side in. Tell your brain you are still in the pilot seat. Now try nose in. Fly the helicopter. Know where you are. Know how it feels. You'll have dreams about it, and fly with a coffee in the morning. I just do it repetitively. I love it.
CoeShow619 thanks man for the info.
@@CoeShow619 @damon0306 Have you used any sims ? Phoenix flight sim helped me alot.
We’ll ever fly them? How’d it go?
325mm is the perfect size heli an always will be
Justin, what would cause the heli to fly like a dolphin thru the air,I have had a couple of blade strikes when landing and had to replace the spindles and blades but that's it,no major crash or anything, love your channel by the way, learn alot
Your I gain is too high
@@Goseph_Joebbels what is I gain
Hi
Do you feel I should start with the 230S v2 before getting the 330S? Thanks
Get a nano s2. I own both of them. Learning 3D you can beat the crap out of the nano. The sv2. Order lots of extra parts.
Dude, how can I learn how to fly like this? Real Flight sim? Do you have any how to flights?
When you become a Jedi, it becomes part of you. You will feel it when it happens in time. I learned without a simulator and hours of practice and thousands of dollars in crashes. Then you get to where you only fly 80% of your ability so you don’t stuff it every weekend.
Hello, Justin:
Always enjoy watch your videos. Very informative and educational ( Especiallly for all us Newbies :-) ). Will you be at this year's IRCHA 2022 event. Just curious. I have what should be a somewhat basic question. I am flying the 330s with the recommended 2200 mah 30C Battery. Would I damage the ESC if I would use a 2200 mah 50C Battery for the 330s? Horizon has a 15% discount on "everything smart" for the month of July ( except for "smart helicopters - bummer! ). It's actually a Spektrum Sale as opposed to Blade. Anyway my reason for asking is I am considering buying the Blade Fusion 360 Smart Heli which uses the 2200 mah 50C battery. If I would be able to use the 50C battery for both helis that would help me to know how to place my order. I am considering purchasing spare batteries for the 330s also. I don't understand the C Rating so much.
Hi Joseph, a 50c battery has more punch. You can draw more amps from the same Milliamp hours. So it is not more voltage. Just more bounce to the ounce. It should be a better flying experience for you. I always hope to go to IRCHA , but to ship my Helis to the UPS store is about $800 bucks now days, and I have to drive 1800 miles for 36 hours at 7 dollars a gallon. I wish I had a full ride sponsorship. I just can’t afford it now days unless I get backing from my main sponsor. I couldn’t buy Helis every month if I travel. Sucks. But it’s true. If I get some extra loot, I’ll be there. California is just killing it for us all.

Thank You, Justin. I know. I don't want to get into the politics of it, but, you're exactly right. I live in Nothern Indiana ( maybe 30 minutes West from South Bend ) . . . LaPorte County. Maybe about a 3 hour drive from Muncie, IN. My 1st Experience with IRCHA was Awesome to say the least. I had no idea R. C. Helicopters were capable of doing the maneuvers I was watching. I was hooked from that time on. Totally Amazing ! ! ! I have missed the last couple of years because of 2 reasons. The Covid Hoax and the inflated costs of a room. My wife and I usually travel together. Room costs went from a little more than $600 to an inflated cost of a little over $1,000 ( nothing at all fancy about the room either ). We usually rent a Golf Cart so we can watch the different events. IRCHA is always an Awesome Event to be at. Thank you for your time and your videos.
@@josephrogina3865 I love IRCHA too. Last time was 2014 for me. Damn. Here’s some footage my wife took.

Hello, Justin:
Awesome Footage . . . , Thank you for that . . . , almost looks like it was in "SloMo". Always enjoy watching you fly :-)
Do you just guess at the 5° of pitch?
Chris Talcott it’s 2 degrees, and it’s just giving it a slight right pitch to keep the nose from trying to rotate to the left because of the torque from the main blades. If you didn’t have a gyro, or try to hold right rudder while trying to lift off, the heli would just spin like a top.
Autorotation?
I have the 330 s also but my battery connector is missing the center wire does yours have that Center smart wire on your battery connector? By the way awesome flying man
It does not have the center pin. I noticed that too, but all of our info is still on the Smart screen. Works as it should.
@@CoeShow619 does not show separate cell voltage like a normal one. If you look up that part number for that ESC it shows it having the center wire and individual battery cell telemetry. Also in the advertisement for this product I can clearly see the center wire next to the black wire. I'm going to have them fix this one or exchange the ESC
Why does it matter? You have a charger that shows cell voltage. It shows flight pack voltage, rpm, Dbm, and current. Don’t know how you look at the screen while you fly. Haha. Just fly it.
Thank you. I agree.
@@CoeShow619 you mean the screen is for looking at wow thank you
Always Enjoy !
You have an awesome transmitter!! Way expensive though. Do you know of a cheap transmitter for BNF Helicopters. I used to do ready to fly but I don't like a bunch of transmitters laying around. Do you know of a fairly cheap transmitter that can BNF blade or OMP heli's??
Get the radiomaster tx16s
Hey man. Nice video. I have almost 10 years in the program. I lost 3 helis due to addiction. Just got back into it. Got the Nano s2 and the 230s v2. But they just discontinued the 360cfx. If it doesn't sell well. Blade has no problem discontinuing a heli. In your personal opinion. What should be my next. I like rtf. I know nothing about radios. But from what I've seen. They are a lot easier now. I used to have a JR 610 for my helis. I am an older guy like yourself. So the eyes aren't what they used to be. I fly about 3 to 4 hours a day. Or as much as i can. This includes Realflight 9 sim. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Professional opinion, I would buy a DX9 transmitter only, and get some kind of Bind and Fly heli. The manual with all Horizon Helis states the program. The radio has a simple scroll wheel that you can push to select an item to modify. For example, Expo which softens center stick, and Dual Rates which can give you high and low roll rates, or just make one rate feel like you want it to. I am bummed that Horizon discontinued the 360cfx 3s. That heli had a lot of potential. All the Safe stuff just makes people rely on the Helis electronics too much. I guess the only choice now is this 330s. I just wish the tuning was easier for beginners. It most likely will have tail wag, which will require tuning. Makes me crazy. But if you watch my tuning tips about the 330s, anyone can get it totally dialed. Horizon just needs to make some more heli choices. If you have the loot, bigger is always more stable and easier to see. I have to suggest the Blade 480 power combo. It comes with a motor and a Castle 90 talon speed control. You can use the new mid torque 6050 servos to keep the cost low. I would also skip the 6250HX gyro and just put a AR7210bx on it for a flawless flight. If you can build, it’s simple, it’s strong, and it’s precise. The AR7210bx is a simple push button set up. If you can read, you can program it yourself. You will need a digital pitch gauge, and you’ll be good to go. I wish they made more kits. This Smart stuff is making everyone handicapped. Learn to fly without all those training wheels. It will make a lot more sense in the long run. Ya know, I really like my Fusion 180, and the 150s is really good too. I think my 150s BNF is the most fun, and it does it all.
@@CoeShow619 wow. More of a reply than i expected. Totally awesome. Thanks so much. I am saving this video. Totally hit the like button and subscribed. You rock.
