That take down from behind was EPIC. Better than anything I could throw together, so good job on your first video. We all have to start somewhere, yes? The scene after the take down may have felt more intense (for me) if instead of over the top yelling, more quiet, calm, and menacing. The antagonist wasn't portrayed initially as being a mad lad. So the transition was a bit jarring. "Do you know who I am?" No, we the audience do not know and that's why the yelling doesn't work. Nor the torture if the eventual plan was murder and disposal of the body. As you've stated in other replies to commenters, there is more to the story, and I think that's great. Again, as a first video working on the filmography, it's a good start. Most of us don't even take the first step in even making a goal, let alone putting something out there, so kudos. By now you've entered film school and I hope it is going well and you are having fun! Best wishes!
Thankyou! The success of this video was very surprising and as i’ve worked with my camera and learned these past couples months i’ve realized how much i did wrong with this. I’m going to remake it for my final project this semester and posting an updated and remastered version to this channel! If you’d like to see if subscribe and check back in a month or so

okey, nice. And what's the message? Don't get cheated while playing poker? Don't trust in your luck? Always pay your debts? It seems to me that the purpose of this film is just ... making a film. Not enough to my view.
IMPLAUSIBLE? The card game was played for money, unlike a buy-sale transaction where money is exchanged for drugs or sex, so the only thing lost in the card game was money. The loser in the card game bled profusely from his mouth after being tortured with pliers, yet he later appeared to have all of his teeth and his tongue and could speak normally. At this point, if not sooner, the story crossed the line into satire and mockery, something to be laughed at. If you are in a poker game and you don't know who the mark is after the second hand is played, then you are the mark. The poker game apparently was rigged using a second-hand deck.
@@CA_Productions827 A few more thoughts on your first short film. The 3-card poker game was obviously rigged when the betting in the final hand was extremely, irrationally disproportionate and winner-take-all. There was very little character development. How did the 3 guys meet? What was the loser's motive for playing poker for money? Why did the loser want to win a lot of money so quickly so badly? For example, did he have a widowed mother who was diagnosed with cancer and could not afford medical treatment? What did the loser do that justified his being killed? For example, did he witness a capital crime by the other two card players? Nudity, eroticism, kinkiness and weirdness may strengthen a story as long as it is not merely eye-candy to gain viewers. What is original about the plot and the story of this video? What is the take-away message? Have you taken a film class or attended a film school? What little I know about film-making, I learned by watching short films, which require more creativity to overcome the constraints of money, time and number of available actors. @@jivanvasant I’m starting film school in the fall, this was a personal project. My intention was to show how he was a normal man except for his gambling habits which get him into trouble. This was my first short film of this length, i intend to make sequels which round out the story and the series is intended to help me get a hang of formatting longer videos. $0 were put into this short film as all the actors were friends of mine who volunteered to act in it. If i was producing a feature film length video then your questions would’ve been answered but i am not confident enough in my abilities nor do i have the funds to produce one at the moment
@@CA_Productions827 Thanks for your reply. The short-film genre can be the best films because more creativity is required to overcome the self-imposed limitations. A high-quality film can be produced of only 5 minutes length, with zero $ budget, no retakes and friends who volunteer to be actors and still win film competitions. Your personal portfolio of short films could serve as a benchmark to your budding film-making activities. If you also take drama school classes, you could deepen your understanding of the different challenges faced by film producers who are at the top of the power pyramid of participants in comparison to play producers who are on the same democratic level as all the other participants with no hierarchy. The best film directors have also been play producers. Best wishes.
bro happy belated anniversary t this thing bc it's gonna hit 50 fucking thousand views soon
