    Hi Gido
Thanks for sharing your adventures in the south. When I was a kid my father had me collect Abs. He would beat the living daylights out of them and cook them for ages. Tough and unappetising. They used to be called Muttonfish. I have since learnt… get the cooking surface hot and cook for about 30 sec each side dipped in egg and breadcrumbs…or a bit of coke and chilli red hot wok.

You captured another stunning time-lapse of the constellations gracing the southern sky. The setting sun was beautifully aligned with the constellation Scorpio, a breathtaking sight. Living north of the equator, I see these constellations in an inverted orientation compared to their usual view, offering a fascinating and unique perspective. As if that wasn’t mesmerizing enough, the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) made a spectacular appearance, adding a magical touch to the experience. Moments like these are always a privilege to witness and deeply appreciated

hey @Gido, im the flatbread warming solution guy, i.e instead of having them break on you when wrapping lol. For the fish roe, i would suggest a small board and squish it into a paste with some lemon juice and pepper (and if you are inclined very finely chopped onions). You can then spread it on Melba toast (not that big a packet) as a lovely and healthy snack. Some of the left over you can use it as a base for your fish curry. It thickens the juices quite well, but test it, it can be very fishy

For best results with fish roe, ideally you would finely chop some shallots, red onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, beacon and celery. While these items are gently sautéing in 50/50 butter and olive oil find yourselt two firm pieces of firm brown cardboard and a length of garden wire or stout twine. Drain the sautéed ingredients when cooked and place them on one piece of the cardboard along with the, as yet, uncooked roe. Place the other piece of cardboard on top and bind tightly to avoid spillage. The parcel should then be placed in the oven at 180° for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove your parcel from the oven and carefully remove the binding. You should then remove the filling and throw it in the bin. Eat the cardboard, it will taste far better than anything that has been even remotely near fish roe. 😂

I’ve tried a few times of skate shoes. Maybe even volleys in the past. They work great on the dry rock but when it gets a layer of black slime I don’t think any type of rubber will help. That’s what I use the socks for and some companies make felt lined shoes for wading rivers with slimy rocks
