Packy and Kevin Thank you so much for making my sons day. He was the hockey kid. He went to a Jr gold qualifier tournament that next morning and earned a spot. It was his first try for it. Thanks again for being so nice and friendly. You for sure have a fan for life.
any chance you could do a bowling ball recommendation video? as a fellow two handed lefty it would be really interesting to hear your opinion on which balls you find useful for different scenarios and why. Keep it up with the great videos!
Lots of amateur vs pro comments. Think about the numbers - because the payout is significant for this tournament, someone could win this and actually make more money than some players make on tour in a given year. Take Brad Miller for example. He was 62nd on the points list, and his earnings from PBA tournaments was $1,850 for 2023. So yes, this tournament if for “amateurs” in that you don’t need a PBA card to bowl. These guys are trying to make a living bowling, so yes if there’s thousands of dollars on the line, you can expect them to be there
The PBA bowler Thompson JR, bowling next to you beat up MAXIMUM BOB Smith in a Tournament not too long ago, he's a GREAT bowler also. This was a tuff Tourney for you.
1/3/2024 - Happy New Year! I just watched this one again. Is there a follow-up video for the last part of this tournament? If so, can you reply with a link to it? Thanks.
Congratulations on your bowling so far and on the 2nd 300 game I've seen you bowl in the past week or so. I want to know how your ball can leave something like this one at 3:35 😮
I see a lot of comments complaining about Packy playing in an amateur tournament as a pro. I think the term Amateur is misleading, as it's really just an open tournament, meaning you don't need to be in the PBA to enter. Also, if the PBA had more tournaments, and paid larger prizes then the PBA pros wouldn't have to go searching for tournaments to make a few bucks. Unlike other sports these guys aren't pulling down millions a year. An NBA player gets paid per game what these PBA players get for a win on tour. So, maybe it's time to give Packy, and the other pros a little slack.
If the pro’s cannot make a living being a pro turn in your pro card. I get they don’t make the money as other sports being a professional but that’s the choice they make you shouldn’t be able to have your cake and eat it to.
@@prettynicefield1104 unlimited resources for equipment and having centers put out pretty much whatever pattern you want and can practice on a daily basis gives an unfair advantage to amateurs that don’t have what pros have. My understanding is that only one of the players per team is allowed to have a pba card and hold a pba title. So think of it as pro am. It would be nice if it were all amateur but these tournaments are where the money is. Hell, I bowled a 10k league and you want to see pros…we had em.

How can you compete in an amateur tournament as a pro who has won a tournament and taken cash? I am very ignorant to bowling rules, but every other sport I follow would not allow it
For the promotion of bowling the title probably should read open tournament or just tournament. To someone watching this that is new to the sport it is probably confusing and thinking wait why are you a “pro” and going against amateurs or even allowed to bowl in it.
I think you people are misconstruing what it means to be an "amatuer". These aren't mixed league scrubs were talking about.. They're 230 average scratch bowlers, whom most have competed in many a tournament, whom a few have won tournaments, whom a few may have regional titles, and have been around the block.. They are just as capable as a "pro" on these conditions, and the money is there for the taking.. Pay the entry fee, show up, bowl. None of these 'amateurs' are mad because Butters and Packy are bowling, they're looking at them as prey, just like the rest of the field.. The 'amateurs' have skills, confidence, and are there to win no matter what.

So in no way am I bashing the event.
This isn't an amateur tournament. It's open to everyone. He used the term amateur meaning a non-PBA event. Pete Weber, Liz Johnson, Kyle Troup, Andrew Anderson and many other pros bowled this event. It draws people from the entire country.
@jakeh5220 then he needs to change it as an open tournament instead of amateur tournament. It's all in the words that he is saying. So don't be coming at me because he said he's bowling in an amateur tournament.
