I only fish out of a boat, never tournaments, and these guys are the worst. Too many tournament guys think they own the water and if you exist on that body of water, you're in their way. His tournament matters. Your life, your tournament, does not. Did you not get that memo? Here we are, just out on the water trying to have a good time, and some of these guys are running around with mental disorders looking for a place to explode. I love that this guy probably thought he was the fastest guy on the water only to be beat to his spot by a bunch of guys pedaling.

Awesome fish!!! That dude in the Phoenix can't really afford that boat. He is probably over leveraged to the hilt and thought he could win a couple of tournaments to pay for it and now it's about to be repossessed. What he thought was a sure thing has turned into not coming close to even cashing in a single tournament. Totally stressed and blaming the world for his own miss judgements.
Between this dude and the crazy guy who jumped in the water after asking if you had a firearm, you don't have many boring days on the water, lol.

So what kills me about these type of guys is do they think us kayakers never owned boats or currently have a boat as well? We are all anglers no matter the vessel. Man, what happened to love for your fellow angler? We used to support one another.

Why would it matter to him if it was a kayak angler or a boat angler there when he arrived? It’s an angler on a fishing vessel right? Some of us own boats as well so I don’t understand why he would yell out “you kayak Mf’rs!” like we are a different breed of human Lol.
Can't say I care much for the bass boat crowd either. Love my electric only lakes, and ledge-filled, lower unit busting smallmouth rivers in Maryland.

For some reason those types of people seem to think they own the water and all good fishing spots and get mad when someone “takes what they think they own”. Getting skis in a kayak is a blast. I got two of my biggest last fall in last 12 years a 46 and a 50. Blessed from god with those two.

Boaters are often disrespectful and down right dangerous on the water often. One of the big reasons I got a boat for the lakes around here is on my kayak I worried a lot about getting hit on a kayak during summer boating season.

You should have reported him to the tournament director. Where I am from the boater would have bee DQ for unsportsmanlike conduct. No call for that reaction.
We all have a lot going on in our lives but no need to be angry at someone else for minding their own business and not harming someone or someone else’s property.
That's why I fish small lakes that only allow small HP motors. Too bad we all can't get along.

@AlexRuddFishing, I think there should be a turny code of ethics that stunts like that would get a competitor disqualified. Everyone should respect each other and respect spacing-
Animosity towards kayak anglers seems to be growing from the boating crowd. We had a boat club loose its sponsor over negative comments made on social media about kayak anglers participating in the west coast championship
Ohhh the boater's rage was very satisfying. I fish from the bank, this past year on Cherokee lake I've had TOO many boaters and kayakers either cut me off from whatever cover I'm casting at or trolling directly over my line. I'm not the type to start an altercation so I'll usually just move on to something else but it's been very aggravating, on one recent outing I decided not to move and stand my ground, a kayaker paddled up to a weed line were I was catching them on a frog and went off because he wanted to fish the same spot. Guy lost his mind when I replied I was there first and started raging like he had tourettes and then threatened to "make me disappear". People have become really emotionally unstable these past few years.
Yea, I hate boat bullies. And honestly, I prefer a boat to go by on plane cuz there's less and lower wakes, but NOT 15 feet away. Totally unsafe. Good fishing to ya.

Alex I sure they can fine the guy mad that two tournaments were held on the same day. In future tournaments it would be mentioned of these problems before somebody gets hurt.

I TOTALLY agree on the boaters not sharing the waterway and endangering us kayakers. I did not get flipped but got soaked by the waves breaking over my bow. On the way back into the landing I came across a guy with a bunch of stuff in the water, I was wondering what is this dude doing, when I go up close to him he stated he wished I had grabbed his stuff as I was coming in. Apparently the definitely drunk party goers on the party barge had flipped his kayak and he was trying to get his gear back. The entire day these dummies just cruised up and back down the main channel . Yes not fun, but never thought of it as serious as he could of died. Correct he could have been seriously injured, who knows how much gear he lost, it cost him or lost his life.
If you can pull his numbers, you should notify the tournament or authorities.

Yes, had the same thing happen on Old Hickory too many times so I quit kayak fishing. It was supposed to be a relaxing time away from work but I would end up coming home mad so I quit and sold my kayak. Too many wanna be BPT guys just because the spend 100k on a boat.
We must use the same organization system, need a chatterbait trailer, check the big worm box cause the worms are in the creature box and the creatures are laying in the bottom of the boat lol
Fortunately I have never had an issue like that. The interactions I have had with boaters has been positive. Those boaters really need to check what really matters in life. I am curious how you choose the baits you take when going out.
I chose a lot based on history and what I think the fish should be doing. I also have some staples that work dang near every where that I take with me. Example from this video the Slobber Knocker.
What do I think about the boaters behavior? If it makes him that upset...he should keep his mother off the street....but these days...with the prevalence of irresponsible/crazy owning guns...stay out of fights....you did the right thing...let them vent and move on.
My biggest fear when I'm on the lake fishing on weekends. On another topic, I see you have not bumped into a custom kayak trailer. If you don't plan on buying one, it would be nice to see a review or your trailer. I have a PA 14 and looking for options. Thank you for the videos! GOD Bless!
It’s just a standard utility trailer from Tractor Supply. I made sure and got one with the gate that folds into the trailer so I could lay my kayak on it 👊🏻 - I’ll walk through in an upcoming video.

Its the old hockey player in me...time and place so take a number for next time when the odds are better. And I can't remember if it was Twain that said never argue with an idiot. More and more kayaks out there these days for sure. I'm curious, when going by one I always go no wake but I see alot of boaters go wide open by them. I would assume kayakers would prefer no wake, correct?
Yeah, if possible. A smaller kayak could easily flip if they get caught in large wake

I fish both salt and fresh water with a kayak and can say common courtesy has gone the way of the dodo.
I've had guys come past me while in my bass boat and like to flip it over.
I try to give all a safe birth while I'm on the water and look out for yakers that may need a hand or help.
Many states have a hunter/fisherman harassment law. If you do i'd definitely call in on that obnoxious pos. I've called the authorities ONCE in my life, and it was over something stolen.. but THAT warrants it. Had that road rage vibe he is gonna end up hurting someone.
Doubt that guy would still say that if he didn't have his buddy with him.

Wow. Just pathetic on the part of the bass boat guy. It's not ideal having multiple tournaments on the same water, but it happens. This is when respect, communication, and etiquette are most important. Sad that most quarrels on the water are from the bass boat community. They can't even get along with each other!!

Unfortunately I’ve seen some crazy stuff from other men and women on the water like the guy on the boat you saw. Majority of the time it’s from tournament bass boat guys. I fish out of a kayak and also have a bass boat and that’s just unacceptable how that guy acted. Gives bass boat guys a really bad name.
