  • This GM 2500HD was brought in for the Keyless Entry not working and a "Service Tire Monitor System" message on the dash. Fast forward to 15:30 for the cause. Both problems were related since the TPMS uses the Remote Control Door Lock receiver to communicate the tire pressures to the BCM.

    Thanks a million.
    2015 GMC 2500HD.
    Drivers kick, broken yellow/green canbus wire. Pinched under a tab for a while.
    Strip, solder, heat shrink & quick wrap of 1 1/2" hockey tape. Better then new..
    30 minute fix if one knows where to look.

    I have a pontiac solstice 2008 and have the same integrated TPMS/Keyless Entry Module. Mine I think is located behind the drivers seat. The issue I am having is the bcm a long time ago got wet. It is the passenger footwell of the firewall. This was due to the convertible top back window coming loose. I got a new convertible top to repair it. I just found out recently that the keyless entry remotes where not working. I had someone a long time ago program the bcm with a snap on tool and the car starts and functions. He also fixed the keyless entry remotes and they work for the trunk and door lock/unlock. The issue I have now is after the remote keyless fobs where reprogrammed the TPMS light showed up on the dash. I have had two different places check the TPMS tire sensors and they are good and could read them. They also tried to rejoin the sensors to the car. I am guessing that the module is either bad or it needs reprogrammed to the bcm? I know that the snap on and other aftermarket bidirectional scanners will not program this module. Do you have to buy a new TPMS/keyless entry module for reprogram or can I use the same existing one? I am looking at buying a acdelco MDI programmer. and getting the tech2win or SPS2 online. Do you know which section of AC Delco TDS I need to purchase and how to program the TPMS/Keyless Entry module back to the car? The only thing the dash does is display the TPMS light and give dashes for the tire pressures.

      It sounds like the tpms sensors are not correct or being read by the module. There should be fault codes in the system that would help. Most aftermarket scan tools like snapon or Autel will program the sensors to the car if there is no communication problems

    Most informative video on the internet. I’m having the exact problem but with a 2008 Yukon XL. Are the remote unlock receiver wires going to be in the same location for older models?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  6 месяцев назад

      I doubt it since that's a completely different body style. Have you done a network scan of all controllers? What are your symptoms? The 08 is similar but tge remote receiver is connected to the BCM via a serial data wire. Use a full function scanner to see if you can communicate with it. Does your TPMS function as its part of the system.

    Best video out by far, but I’m having a slightly different issue. I am trying to program a new keyless fob. I don’t have any issues with the tpi system. When programming system picks it up but doesn’t push all the way through to program key fob.

      Not sure what to suggest. Is it an OEM fob or an Amazon special. What scanner are you using to do this.

    Is there a place that shows where all this wire runs? I bought a truck that is having the same issue, not sure if it’s the same cause. I have a tone wand, so I figure if that not where my break is, I can cut the wire in the sill plate, and tone it in both directions and see if I can find where the break is.

      Schematics are available on Alldatadiy.com for a fee. Have you scanned it for codes in all controllers? Start there. It does not take too much to pop that sill plate off the door opening and inspect the wiring though.

    My fobs aren’t working either. I changed my tires to winter tires without sensors ..I was getting low tire pressure warning before my fobs stopped working ..I miss my 1965 ford f100

    I’m not sure if you’re still active on this, but did you just cut the wire or was it already split? I’m having the same issue on a 2016 gmc Denali.

      Lin Bus wire was corroded under drives sill plate due to sand and vibration wearing through the insulation allowing salt to eat the wires.

    I checked for broken wires under the sill, didn't find any. Is the RCDLR behind the headliner on the passenger side? Does it have to be programmed to the truck? I though that was the BCM, but someone told me otherwise.

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  17 дней назад

      The RCDLR is above the headliner on the passenger side of the high mounted brake light. Is the BCM setting codes for loss of communication with it. Other than learning the remote keyless entry and TPMS sensors I don't think it would require programming but the service information is not clear. We're you thinking of installing a new or used one.

      @@PhillipBailey I ordered a new one. No codes being set that I can tell. Had new tires and new tpms sensors installed today, system still reading no signal from either and the RKE is not operational

      @reverendxlt what kind of scanner are you using and are you scanning the BCM?

    Hello there I have a 2013 XTS that says remote not found. But it can start the vehicle in the console pocket, so that means my remotes are functional. Please help me with ideas... Replacement antenna? How can I find the wiring harness to trace like you did? Thank you in advance.

      Dead battery in the remote? Putting the remote into the console pocket bypasses the RFI signal. Need to scan it for codes and test tge remotes for signal output

      Nope, fresh batteries in the remotes.@@PhillipBailey

      I do get multiple codes, none of which help me much to pinpoint the issue. I'll list them if you think it will help you help me focus in on the remote being recognized. The battery in the remote has to have a better working in the console pocket , as it is still sending a signal...just a very short distance@@PhillipBailey

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  11 месяцев назад

      @JimmyStClair if I'm not mistaken the reason for the console pocket is if the remote dies for any reason it will still start this way as there is a transponder in the remote that does not require a battery to communicate with the antenna in the pocket. You can confirm this by removing the battery from the remote and see if it still starts that way. The dealer and some independent shops can test the remote to see if it's outputting signals. The local dealer here has the tester in the parts department and does this for free. Takes a few seconds. You say there are codes present. What are they and in which module are the codes. Note you will need more than an OBD2 scanner to read the network codes.

      @@PhillipBailey I actually ran codes with a different machine. (KECM) B3119-02 keyless antenna 1-short to ground. I have no idea which antenna that is. Is it this part number 13502549? If so where is it located. Thank you so much. There aren't many diy guys for cadillac vs mercedes forums.
