Blaster Master Pause Trick (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears!

- In Blaster Master for the NES, there's a very easy glitch you can exploit called the Pause Trick, and it allows you to basically instantly kill certain bosses.
All you need to do is hit the A button to launch a grenade, and when that grenade makes contact with the boss enemy, pause the game. If you did it right, the boss will continuously flash and make the "I'm getting hit" sound effect. Now all you gotta do is wait a few seconds, then unpause and the boss will be dead. You can usually tell when the boss has been defeated, because the sound effects will change slightly while the game is still paused, and this will indicate that the boss is out of HP.
This Pause Trick only works against certain bosses. Namely, Crabullus, Fred, Frozen Crabullus, and Enhanced Fred (the crabs and the frogs).

There's another glitch you can do at bosses. It requires that you have full gun power and just as you're entering inside a boss room you press pause then unpause.
You're now stuck inside a wall and boss cannot reach you either but you can keep blasting away with fully powered gun till the boss dies.
Sometimes using this glitch might get you stuck in to a wall though.

The glitch / trick was originally named “extended grenade” in Nintendo Power back in the day.
You can also do the Megaman 1 glitch with the grenade by pausing and unpausing the game quickly while throw grenades. Not as effective as electro-man’s weapon, but it does work. Helpful for level 5 boss.

Ah that glitch brings back memories. I remember my uncle (rip) showing it to me when I was little. I never could get it to work on that damn Crab boss in level 5.
