Not just that we have 2500 plus political parties in India and have equal rights to participate in the elections. Show us one country other than India who support religious freedom declaring public holidays for every religious celebration. In India we have Hindu festival, Christian, Muslims and many more festivals it is a government holiday. Minorities (Muslims and Christians) population percentage has grown drastically, how can they grow in such huge numbers if they are not getting any benefits or suppressed in India government or the majority community? They minority is nearly 41% are they kidding democracy is in question?

There's famous incident , when Border road organisation was building road across China border to increase the mobility of military. Then one of the NGO has filled PIL in Supreme court of India against the road by giving reference of environment.
In defense Government of India had said that we have weapons which need wide road to transport.
Literally government said 40 feet (approximately).
This is where democracy lacks , whereas we will never get to know , such facts about China.
Such foreign funded NGO needs to be caught down.

India has the best and most vibrant democracy in the world. There are nearly 1100 political parties in the country which represent every single section of the society unlike USA and most europen countries which have only 2.
Government of India can go to any extent to provide a better life for indians. Also indians are completely free to criticise Government. Some people even abuse our prime minister on a daily basis. There is a culture of debate for nearly everything. There is absolutely no restrictions on anything. Can you imagine a democracy with a population of 1.4 billion.

Well I do agree with Jaishankar. George Soros has a long past of toppling govt of different countries. His foundation named Open Society, directly works with many media houses across the globe. His foundation directly says he wants an inclusive democracies round the globe. That sounds good until he says that for INDIA, which is the largest democracy of the world. The power transfer here happens peacefully. Our democratic institutions are quite strong. Yes, there can be some minor issues here and there but overall India has a long history of being a democratic nation.
George Soros is accused of doing short-selling when a country's economic shares topples.

His Org.(s) takes part to shake hand with a country's opposition party to change the regime of the particular country if the country does not align with his and agency like CiA's dictation. Thats a concern for the world and particularly to those which are developing. We have by far the worst government this country ever experienced, very pro US and the whole country is fed up. Apparently, they consider to do martial law so the election does not happen so the current currently illegitimate government could continue (to serve the interests of the US). They are scared as the opposition is strongly pro peaceful solution on the Ukrainian conflict. Bearing in mind - lot of weapons are shipped to Ukraine through Slovakia. Our government has taken the basic principles of democracy. And on that basis, our constitution is made and the entire country runs on that - our constitution and government. We have always proved that democracy can deliver. And when I say deliver, this is regardless of caste, creed, religion, gender. There’s absolutely no space for discrimination.

In India democracy is flourishing. Even I can say sometime there is too much democracy. I can be biased in comment. But no country or no govt gives 100% democracy and that can not be given. That is why Rule of law comes in picture. Here In India thinks that if their party is not in power then democracy is dead. Even though India partition was based on religion. The majority(Hindus) lives peacefully with other community specifically Muslims. Because here Muslims consider as minority in India and no other religion consider as minority. Fun fact is 2nd largest community is muslim. Demography is changing in India and it will keep changing and no one can stop it and main worry is that. Because history was not good for majority people(Hindu). If this changes will consistent for 200-300 Years, It will be disaster for majority people because by that time they won't be in majority that will be disaster for Hindu. Why it would be I will leave that for your research.

India is a more democratic country than any other country and that is why there is too much conflict. I can give some examples. All minorities have the freedom to follow their religion even if they are morally incorrect in society one such example is polygamy for example Muslims in India can still marry 4 women and be allowed to give a divorce by saying I give you divorce three times over on call and then there is halala which is a shameful act for the general public.
When victims of these types of divorce and halalaa raised their voices the government passed a new law that you cannot give a divorce by just saying it three times and you need to go through the legal process like other citizens and women will have equal say in it. And banned halala (which is if someone gives a divorce angrily and then repents and wants to get married then that girl has to marry a third person for at least a night and when her husband for a night gives her divorce then she can marry her previous husband). When this was done to give equal rights to women people started shouting that the government is suppressing minorities and whatever all across the world including the West where this is already banned that's why everything that the West says is actually their hypocrisy and every politician and citizen in the continent is aware of this. This is just a simple example of how democracy has been shaped and has conflict in India.

Christian missionaries were sent to crush Hinduism in India and convert them to Christianity by any means suitable to them (please read about the Christians of goa and saint Xavier) but Hindus managed to fight their way out in any situation which was forced upon them either by Islamic terrorists while islamisation of India or by christianisation. In india to protect minorities govt give them reservation in govt job. And even the land where they lives get protection. nobody can buy and settle in their region out of their community.and many more ..
      Which is a good thing.
But Minority has the right to open their religious institutions which majority (Hindu) doesn't have..as a result india have over 70% private institutions (school and colleges) run by Christian and in these school they have more than 80% staff Christian and their head only can be a Christain. And they are converting our north eastern region of India and now Christianity are in majority in these region by the way they are tribal people..
On the other hand we Hindus whatever we offer (money) in our temple. govt take them in govt treasury..which is not the case for the minority..

@@zuzanareacts 1. The leftist and the secularist are just against the majority Hindu community without any logical reasoning. The play the victim card to justify their claims, but they are actually not the victims, they enjoy the subsidies and reservations most. Being in minority doesn't means you are necessarily a victim. To get votes all political parties are doing their best to please the minorities.
      2. How western concept of secularism doesn't fit in India. As you know Hindu religion is polytheistic, means they believe in different faiths, means they are comfortable with diversity of faiths/religion. So, they are the most accepting and tolerant with other faiths. But on the other hand the monotheist minorities never see Hindus as good people just because they don't follow their ideologies. And that you can see by looking at the statistics how the population % of minorities has increased over the years in India. It is expected that if the population of Muslims(minorities) keeps increasing with the same pace, Hindus will become minority in India by 2047.
      3. Even the constitution of India gives special powers to WALF board of Muslims to exercise undue advantages in acquiring the properties in India. It has become a land mafia. The donations given by Hindus to their temples goes to government and the Hindu temples are controlled by government. But on the other hand Christians & Muslims donations to their institutions are not taxed and goes completely to their respective community to promote their religion.
      4. As Hindus we under the rule of Muslims for around 600 years and then under British colonialism for another 200 years. Both of them tried to destroy Indian culture and Hindu religion in their own ways. And then after Independence the initial governments gave leftist historians to write history books for school children. The leftist historians wrote false and distorted history to show Hindus in bad light, which led to new generation of Hindus to go against their own religion & culture.

Madam Zuzana , ur attempt to understand India is laudable but is going to be an arduos task. You may even end up being dumbfounded and thoroughly confused at the collossal complexity of this continental entity. Our recent colonial history has majorly dented our capacity to look back at our own history with respect and created a class of deracinted elite who have been colonialised sufficiently to believe in our cultural inferiority vis a vis the West. On the other hand you have the large masses of this gigantic nation who have a millennial sense of civilisation and have patiently put up with their own damnation with a stoicness that is stunning. There is now an awakening that we have put up with bullshit narratives about us by a cocky European, Western arrogance for far too long. The western world not only pushed us into self loathing but ensured that we stayed ruptured within ourselves via our myriad differences in religious, ethnic, linguistic , caste and creed related identities. The strategic leadership of the leader nations focused on keeping us knotted within our own fissures and is now scared that those efforts are futile and India the civilisational behemoth has absorbed Constitutionalism, Republicanism effortlessly within its rooted cultural mosaic. It can only be kept twisted with large injected doses of internal strife by resorting to ideological and other missiles like global narrative building etc to try and penetrate its social underbelly. Omly natural from their standpoint of dominance . George is a rent-a- cause mercenary with special talents. He is the front. There are obviously other vested interests who use him. We in India are old owls who have survived and kept our identity intact. Jaishankar is articulating the facts which we always knew but kept bottled up. We have had enough and are asking these forces to lay off. Full stop.

I love what you are saying. I'm sure for me this will be a looong and laborious journey but you know why I like this as I find some similarities between our nations. Just like you mentioned about your history, similarly Slovak history has been manipulated to server the political agendas of other surrounding nations. The mentality is also of not appreciating the history but I think it has been twisted so much .... People here are actually not patriotic (they would sell their mother for a cent - that's a very sad truth) but similarly like India Slovakia survives centuries of oppression and attempts for assimilation with Hungary and we still survived. However, the mentality has suffered, people don't view themselves as good enough - they don't have that ego-centric way of the west of doing things. They are very also family orientated which you don't see much in the west either. We have lots of opinions also bottled up but we don't have a leader like yours to confidently voice it and we are too small and not a strong economy to I feel like be able to speak up. (just my perception - maybe some other Slovak people would disagree with me) Hence, I admire what India is doing and I'm rooting for you guys. Sending lots love and peace.

I was very briefly aware of the connection between your folks and Hungary but I dint know the aspect you have highlighted. Democracy by definition "Government By the People, Government For the People, Government Of the People", is and even a normal human with no education can become prime minister and president as on 2024. India is living proof and Mother of Democracy. Tamils are the Grand-Mother of Democracy. Ex: US doesn't have a women President. Many nations don't have Religious Equality in Power. Anything not inclusive does not fit under democracy. This should not be confused with "CRAP" brought into countries when discovering OIL in name of "Democracy". Hope that Answers your Question.
