Why not?Poland is beautiful, very clean and firendly people, good food. And especially for me since i am from Serbia,i am slavic as well and we Serbs love Poland and Polish people.I have visited many times and thinking of settling down in Poland after i finish working on cruise ships.Much love and Slawa rodu.
Pros and cons about living in Poland coming coming from someone who grew up in Poland and lived there for quite a while. Pros: very hospitable people who will invite you home and give everything they have to make feel welcome. Cons: some Poles can feel down about themselves when comparing to the West of Europe which is not deserved since they are hard-working, well educated , and very resilient folks.💪
I do agree - Poland is amazing! The country is so diversified and relatively small, so quite easy to go around. Lots of new highways and a very good train network. In the last few years the restaurant scene really improved in Poland, as Poland has many talented chefs who traveled abroad and now they are able to recreate all kinds of dishes from all over the world and often even better than the originals. It seems to me that so many things are done over the top, but over the top - in a good way. Most hotels are great . On my last visit I found this amazing boutique hotel called H-15, located on Ul. Poznanska and this hotel was a top notch, for a fraction of a price of another 5 star hotels. And the restaurant downstairs (Signature) had food to die for. I had there my best octopus - ever! And I have been to lots of countries where they cook octopus every day. Kaja - if you ever were a kid with an accent - you certainly did make up for it now. How many languages do you speak?
I don’t know if you’ll see this, but you have become my favorite channel. I have always been fascinated in traveling and you have introduced me to many new places. I’m going to Denmark in a few months and your video contributed to that decision ALOT. Thank you!
Being a Pole (living in Warsaw), I am among those called upon by Kaja to name one positive side of living in Poland, and one negative. Not easy, as many pros and... quite a few cons come to my mind. So I gave it a while of thought to select one leading pro, and one single con that most annoys me. Here we go. PRO: Warsaw (and Poland overall, I think) is a truly livable place. CON: dangerous speeding on Polish roads.
The desire to "live in Poland... being Polish" XD it might sound silly... but it really resonates with me as well. :) As another person (with Polish roots) who moved around a lot and never got to experience feeling "local" and more specifically, feeling Polish/knowing what the everyday is like here... I also never felt comfortable telling people I was from this place. Cheers to repatriating a bit :'D and thanks for the video
i love your spirit . I know what you mean about been a foreigner in another country. People can be really cruel sometimes, especially kids and teenagers. I think that people that have been submerged in different cultures have a deeper, more meaningful purpose in life. I just discover your channel and i love it. THANKS!!!
I'm Brazilian and thinking about trying to find an opportunity to work in Poland. Certainly, will be a good choice to gain international exposure. Thanks for sharing your experience and point of view, Kaja!
Omg, I'm jealous of you lving in Poland, but not forlong, soon after I graduate high school, I planon moving to Poland so I can study there and live there, I was born there but have lived in the USA for the last 13 years
We're not colonialists. The whole world outside of Europe and US, hates the West for oppression. But being Polish, you get to be a white person but without the abuse the English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Germans, Italians and Belgians caused countless people. We're poor but we're at least not thieves like the countries I mentioned.
I want to move to either Poland or Germany from various reasons, both are great countries so it's hard to choose, hence why i'm here. thank you for the videos
That was an interesting vlog that gave little information about Poland too and not just why you chose to live in Poland. Keep up the good work, Kaja. Cheers
I really enjoy watching your videos. Very informative and ur very friendly on screen not dull like others who do RUclips videos. I love the look of your black leather biker jacket, where you buy it from?
I honestly can relate to a lot of things you mentioned in this video. I was born in Venezuela and at 11 yrs old, I moved with my family to Panama. 75% of my friends are locals. I am almost 18 and the experience of being a foreigner is life changing. Even at such a young age, I could see that some of the things I/ my family went through as immigrants, most of my friends couldn't relate to (they could try but you won't know how it is until you become the foreigner) Also, I do not have any other family members in this country so it's only my parents, siblings and me. which is very hard to get used to but yk, that's life ig. I believe that the experience of moving to a different country, makes me a bit more prepared to potentially live abroad in the future. It is scary, and might be isolating but I believe it is very worth it (at least in for me) I am currently researching for universities abroad and I found a few in Poland offering my degree in English, I hope I can apply, get in and start a new chapter in my life. The video was great, thank you! new subscriber lol ❤
I will tell you how I view Poland as a Bulgarian (I've been to Gdansk and Warsaw). -Infrastructure - I've lived in the States, been to 20+ European countries, Poland feels very developed. Miles ahead of Bucurest(Romania) although the two countries have similar standard of living. -History and prettiness. Gdansk is hands down a f#ck me beautiful town, top of the food chain. Warsaw is quite nice too -People - Polish are smart and educated and you can feel it - check PISA and IQ rankings if you don't trust me. Also - everybody minds their own business. But you gotta learn polish eventually to fit it -Safe - Bulgaria is super safe as well as tbh, but so is Poland. In Budapest, you see anti car theft tools put on like every other car -Food is meh. Not great quality tbh. I visited like 10 restaurants in Warsaw and the only thing I really enjoyed was a vegan restaurants (not a vegan myself, I eat meat regularly). Gdansk was way better, dunno why, but still far behind the Balkan/Mediterranean cousine we have in South-Eastern Europe in my opinion. -weather - cold, but not impossibly cold. The towns and the infrastructure is so good, it almost feels charming. -Beer culture is good-ish, not like Czechia, but good enough. Beer is cheap. You often can get a top quality beer for less than a coffee. - Lots of gay flags everywhere on presidential buildings terraces. I myself don't mind gay people, so hopefully they get a better treatment in Poland -Religion is a big things, Churches are packed on Sundays -Coffee is expensive, like 3 Euro on average, but it's tasty at least Last. Polish people seem very calm, none intrusive and quiet. Quite the opposite of Americans. I feel like, despite the shitheads PIS, Poland is destined to grow and become stronger that is due to the good education, smart people, 40 million population (no demographic crises), good infrastructure and important geopolitical location. The perfect mix of different influences - North (Baltic Sea), East - Ukraine/Belarus and West - Germany.
PiS are the "shitheads" according to you, so tell us whom are your favourites? Name them, please. Once you said A, say B. BTW, I am not a fan of PiS, often mad at them.
You’ve mentioned Ubers being cheap before. What is the driving situation like for someone living in Warsaw? Can you get by with public transportation/Ubers or would owning a car be preferred for someone near the Center? Thanks
Definitely Poland is a country worth trying to live in. There are many pros, some cons like visa for non UE/Schengen citizens. My Mexican friend explains it really well in my video. She appreciates Poland, although she can't speak Polish. Certainly not as good as you do ;)
I came across your Paros, Greece, video. I have a Polish friend, and about 15 seconds into your video, I'm going "You're Polish!" 😀 The Ds in place of THs are a big clue. Great videos.
