In 1929, ten years before he instituted the tradition of January 1 in the golden hall of the Musikverein, Clemens Krauss began conducting the Wiener Philharmoniker at the Salzburg Festival in a program entirely devoted to the Strauss family. He is an absolute model in the way he conducts the waltz, never metronomic (sewing machine), a three-beat that is always supple, with a human breath and that purrs like a kitten. Krauss and Boskovsky are considered by some conoisseurs as the most closest to the old Viennese tradition as they knew and worked with musicians who knew Strauss Jr.

The complexity and precision of classical compositions showcase the masterful skill of the composers. The intricate interplay of instruments, the meticulous attention to structure, and the depth of musical expression reveal a level of craftsmanship that is both awe-inspiring and humbling.

Clemens Krauss was a master when it came to the Strauss family (apart from the fact that the surnames of these rhymes), very elegant, relaxed and serious, you really appreciate the beauty of these waltzes and polka, as a big fan of the Strauss and their contemporaries, I declare this album as an ABSOLUTE REFERENCE, especially nice for the advent of the New Year's Concert in Vienna. PROSIT NEUJAHR!

This is the most masterful interpretation of Johann Strauss’s music. The same quality can only be found with the performances of Carlos Kleiber, i.e. not too slow, not too fast. The Wiener Philharmony is divine as usual. I enjoy this enregistrement immensely. Thank you for posting it.

Diese Werke erheben mich zum HIMMEL!!!!
These works uplift me to HEAVEN!!!
I especifically like these renditions by
Clemens Krauss, because he has in
his blood that intoxicating, overpowering, beguiling CHARM of Vienna---- the one that was KILLED by World War I.
It is the GREATEST TRAGEDY---- SIN-
OF ALL TIME, that Humans have, failed, to learn, and, carry out:
      HOW TO STOP ALL WARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      Thank you, Vienna,
      Thank you, Clemens Krauss,
Thank you Vienna Philharmonic, Thank you, to all involved in the Production of these MAGIC RECORDINDS,
      ABOVE ALL,
      THANK YOU, YOU TUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
