Groin shots were allowed in the first couple of UFCs. Check out Joe San’s match with the Kempo fighter, the match is ended by repeated uppercuts to Joe San’s scroticles.

Tyson is extremely quick and very powerful, but he's a boxer so his foot placement is very forward. I.e. boxers are pretty easy to take down. Rule #1 of MMA: better guy on the ground usually wins.
    BUT
Tyson hits STUPID hard and unbelievably quick.

It’s possible that Tyson would’ve won, but I’m not sure it would’ve completely changed mma as we know it. I’m not 100% he would’ve beat Royce, but if he did then I’m sure the Gracies would’ve convinced Rickson to fight Tyson at the next UFC. I don’t think Tyson would’ve beat Rickson.

I guess the question then would have become if Mike Tyson spent some energy between UFC 1 and UFC 2 learning takedown defense or if Tyson wins UFC 1 does UFC 2 even exist. All totally hypothetical but fun to think about.

i’m pretty sure he would’ve been leg locked or heel kicked.
