This video saved my marriage. Thank you!
If you are arguing over bolts, you have deeper issues my friend...
You made this 2 years ago and it's 8:47 pm pst 2023 and you just saved my night. God bless you 🙏😇
This video was made three years ago and it's still helping people solve their problems. It took me longer to set up the tools and get the dremel ready, then it did to fix the carriage bolt. Thank you.😊
You just saved me a bunch of headache with such a simple solution, great video!
I was in a pickle earlier today. The previous owner of my car had overtorqued the nuts fastening the strut tower to the car body, causing one of the studs to spin. I had no idea how I was going to loosen that nut to replace the strut until this handy video showed me how to get a grip on the stud. Thanks!
I used a hack saw, worked perfectly. Pure genius.
What if the nut is in a recessed area where you can't grab it, any ideas on how to tackle that one? Great video!
This will depend on the actual situation. If you can, cut it off. I mean, in his case, he was destroying the bolt anyway, he might as well just have cut below the nut and then its done. In your case, if you can replace the nut, maybe cut the bolt off and gain more access. That might not work through. Sometimes you can apply pressure in a certain way, and that will get the nut to stop spinning. What I mean is, try to angel the bolt and nut in a way it wasn't designed to be. The other thing that may work is using something to pull up on the nut while you unscrew it. I sometimes use a screw drive under the head of the bolt. Unfortunately, not ever method is possible or practical, and none of these may work. You sometimes have to get creative when it comes to issues.
Yes.. this is my issue today! It's a shopping cart wheel.. and driving me crazy.
This was the only solution that helped me get a rusted bold out great video man! Thank you!
Great tip bud I have four spinning corroded bolts and nuts that I need to remove to get to my license plate light bulbs! I tried liquid wrench and a socket till I was blue in the face. Great video
thats ingenious. maybe screws should now all come with slits like that to make easier to tighten bolts!
I like your tip!
Those spinning bolts are the reason I only use carriage bolts when there's no better choice. They've let me down too many times.
Holy crap. Just bought 4 caster wheels and it was like 30 bucks I think. 9.99 for the Dolley with them already on there is a steal.
thank you so much! I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to do it and was just about to give up
I have two bolts that are/were likely weld anchored to the inside of the frame and that side of the frame and the bolts there attached is completely inaccessible without MAJOR disassembly, they are both spinning and I cannot cut the off as I absolutely need them...this is a Life saver solution and I'm a bit embarrassed I didn't think of it myself, Thank you :-)
Good tip! The simple ones sometimes elude is! Great Vid!
Thanks for your cogent, professional explanation of a useful technique.
So simple yet ABSOLUTE GENIUS!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You sir are scholar and a gentleman for giving me a Eureka moment. I have a spinning bolt on my bush cutter head no slot to stop it from spinning to loosen the nut and replace the head. Thanks!
Ingenious! Would have never thought to do this. You just saved me!
Excellent trick!! Thanks so much!!
Thank you! That is a very simple solution that I never thought of.
Omg, thank you🙏! I had the same problem with our furniture dolly at the goodwill where I work. So again. Thank you🙏!
Two tips in row: cheap casters and unscrewing bolt. Thanks!
Great tip for sure. Thanks for the information and video.
You just saved me so much time - thank you!
The only thing
G I woyld do different is use my ratcheting wrench to save time and the switch to a regular wrench if I have to cinch it down. Thanks for the hack.
Def a time saver.
When you have an MBA and this guy goes, “Doesn’t take much brainpower for this one.” 😔😭😂 Great tip thank you!
I bought the 4 hb dollies for same reason ... for the casters ... threw some welded steel on top of them and turned them into wheel doilies for my light pickup. For what I’m doing it was “farrrrrr” more sensible economically
Pretty ingenious. Thanks for the tip!
nice trick
I love ideas like this. Thanks Jeremy.
I’m excited to go live with you guys mr Bruce.
The problem I have is that I'm holding the bolt still, but the nut is not coming out even though I'm spinning it. How is that possible? Any tip would be appreciated.
The threads might be stripped.
You are clever my friend. Thank you for the insight. Great tips and ideas.
You sir, are a saint. Saved me hours of my life with this tip!
This helped me alot dude, i was about to do the same thing but on the head wich have made it auglier on the front.. i didnt think of u could aswell to it on the end so tyty!!!
ok ok ok why is this actually super smart
Nice that wouldv saved frustation working the other day exhaus manifold studs and nuts
How do i remove a screw where by the threading is damage .. the screw will just spin there and not move if i turn it clockwise or anticlockwise
same
Thanks- saved me a job !
Brilliant! Wish I had thought of that.
Good idea. Thanks
Such a useful tip. Thanks buddy!
I did this on the one-way screws trying to remove my security door.
alr time to do with in my car thank you sir
Nice simple trick.
Good tips, both of them.
Thanks.
Thank you!
So I have one that has a head but the nut will just spin. How do I get that off?
Brilliant.
Love it. Cheers
Bam! fantastic idea
What is the nut/bolt is flipped the other way so I can see the bolt head but not the nut?
Bro you're funny how many people have a five horsepower cutting wheel hooked up with a compressor hose.
We are garage mechanics ..slim!
Tons
How about a drop of superglue? Would it work?
Your genius
Thank you.
No, thank you!
Working on a mustang wing thank you
Good job 👍 buddy 👌
Thanks
What if you don’t have a rotary saw?
Your the goat
he'll yea. thanks
Why don't you just hold the nut and turn the screw driver?
It requires brain power. Good job Sir! Thanks for sharing. Saved me a headache
Genius!!!!!!!!!!
Bro thank u so much!!!!
Thanks bro 👍
Brilliant...
Excellent
What if I have no saw though?
What if I have a free spinning bolt
What if all I have is one set of pliers?
Impact driver works for me.
Sometimes that works for sure
And if you don’t have anything that cuts metal?! 😭
Dang mines recessed. Both sides. Tried drilling hole which made things worse
Assuming you have a blade that can make a slot
Everyone should. It’s called being a professional homeowner
and if you don't have a saw?
Get a saw
Oh ty
🙌🏾
Blessings, John 3:16. Jesus loves you.
Don’t expect much from those casters.
Used them for years under a heavy shop table and under a welding cart They haven’t failed yet.
May as well cut off the bolt
God your awesome
Insanely wasteful to buy that just for castors. LOL
You have a cutting wheel in your hand. Why are you taking this unnecessary step of cutting a slot when you could just cut the bolt. Or in this case you look like you have enough room under that nut to grab the bolt with some needle nose pliers.
To demonstrate a solution that others might use when they need to keep the bolt in service.
@@randysmith5556It didn't sound that way from the first minute of the video. But it is a great tip for other applications. Always good to add more diy knowledge. Thanks.
just drive a screw in from the side, to hold the bolt.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I have 5 of these buggers to remove and you just saved me a huge headache!!
nice trick
