    Sorry, James, but what „shared culture“ are you referring to when speaking about Palestinians and Israelis and how do you expect Palestinians to feel better about their occupier? Palestinians should not be asked to be understanding about Jews having to flee genocidal Germany if they are the ones burdened with making the past better. What an absurd take.

      He has similar absurd takes. He literally said Haniyeh is not a martyr. Like wtf are you to decide that? He then would say that he is an independent journalist, but if you have pro Palestinian editorial bias, don't pump Zionist points!

      What a heap of absolutely uneducated nonsense. To begin with, there is no such thing as a "Palestinian" people and subsequently no such thing as a "Palestinian" state. If is of your own free choice that you have decided to believe in this nonsense. Israel doesn't occupy Israel. It is the Arabs who keep on occupying cities in Judea and Samaria (Hebron, Ramallah). Go to the Old City in Jerusalem and you'll find two illegal mosques built on top of Temple Mount. The list is endless. And so is people's stupidity.

    Hi a Palestinian from Gaza here, thanks for the talk!
    I'm not going to comment on some details like the appartheid or the price Palestinians are paying for mistakes done by Europe or Germany, i just want to say that i cracked up when you beeped and cyphered each time "Free Palestine" is mentioned as if it's a curse word.
    I also want to remind everyone that Palestinians are the one who got ethnically cleansed from their homeland "now called Israel", are still being brutally killed and imprisoned without freedome.
    Peace and love to you and your viewers.

      I know the bleeping is embarrassing, but as a non eu citizen, we cannot to risk our works permit as these laws of freedom of speech are very arbitrary in Germany.
      Peace!

      Lies. Palestine was the name given by the Romans to the territories they conquered in Judea. The Jewish settlers moved there legally by buying the land. They didn't kick anyone out of their homes or murder anyone, instead started getting attacked by the Muslim neighbors. Israel also made the mistake of taking in a lot of Muslim refugees after the 1960s and they started claiming the land is theirs. It's the same thing Islamists do everywhere they go. They did a similar in Kosovo which lead to the war in Yugoslavia.

    Made a lot of sense until: minute 21,52. "Why would you object to a country joining NATO? You obviously want to attack them" That is very woolly thinking and assumes that Russia having (I call it an antagonistic alliance, he says defensive, let's go with not very pro Russia) alliance right on its border for over 1000 miles would not be seen as a threat. That is obviously garbage. Obvious because Russians from Gorbachev (are you calling him an antagonist?) on for three decades have been imploring NATO NOT to approach its border. Stated losing me after that

      Yeah, that was insane. Especially saying Germany has a history of solving problems militarily too much. Then comparing modern Russia to Germany. And then saying Germany needs to respond to Russia with military force? Like wtf?
      They even brought up NATO before that so I thought they would at least have a nuanced explanation but Jesus

    The supposed virtues of German political culture such as refusing to work with far right as James puts it is an entirely meaningless point because the so called respectable and democratic parties have adopted the rhetoric and policies of the far right wholesale. Not to mention the rise of the far right was a direct consequence of the neoliberal political and economic decisions of these parties, going back to Greek debt crisis. It's naive to suggest that migrants can feel safer in Germany as opposed to France because the SPD and CDU are already implementing incredibly draconian anti-immigration policies and are hell bent on demonising immigrants.

    • @drgn2182
      @drgn2182 6 дней назад

      The rise of the far right was in response to actions by migrants including terrorism, violent and hexual crime.

    It's kinda laughable to say NATO is a defensive alliance. Specially from an analyst who knows the stuff. Yogoslavia, Libya etc. rings a bell? Well they do, right? I was gonna subscribe but then thought, nah. Not worth it. Not worth it to waste time watching the rest of the video either.

    41:21 The matter of opposing anti-semitism in Germany is rather one of display and presentation than one of substance. The decisive priority of it is showing off how strongly the lesson has been learned and internalized. In a way the message is that no one could possibly more anti-anti-semitic than these Germans. So if Israelis come along critizing the Israeli government these Germans feel rejected and their contribution to anti-semitism under-appreciated and diminished.
    Germany needs indeed therapy in this matter since the accounting of the 3rd. Reich has not been a contentual one but rather a series of constant reminders of how bad things were at the time.
    But this however is only half the battle. This unresolved issue has formed and distorted the German mentality ever since creating a sense of normality which is constantly being crippled by trans-generational traumatization that goes undetected.

      As a German, it just isn't important.
      The fate of israelis AND palestinians is of no consequence to Germany.
      We have to worry about what is good for us and nothing else.
      Anything else is morally reprehensible and unforgivable.
      You have an obligation to your fatherland and your fatherland only.
      We need to become tough and fast, and understand taht we are surrounded by enemies.
      Russia and China on the one side.
      And USA/UK/Poland who destroyed our critical infrastructure in the greatest act of terrorism in history.

    the moment he started to dismiss the argument about german feelings, I think it went downhill and he showed his own tribal biases there and hatred I would guess. Fact is the sort of Germans that he described there are probably deeply guiltridden and what he is doing there will not to anything to resolve that. In fact it will only strengthen it because he just told them that he thinks the same. To him those people are inherently bad.

    WW1 and WW2 was one struggle which roots go back a 1,000 years: the battle for continental supremacy between France and The Holy Roman Empire.
    WW1 and WW2 was simply another "30 years war" with the difference being that Atlanticists (the naval powers) stepped in and supported France as the "favored nation" as a proactive divide-and-rule strategy of intended global control and domination.

    • @flamesintheattic
      @flamesintheattic 8 дней назад

      There was also the battle for control of the oil fields of the Ottoman Empire. Germany was rising fast and doing deals to establish shipping routes. They had to be squashed by the Anglo-American empire. WW2 was just round two of the same thing, then the threat of Russia taking over Europe.

    Oh God. "Russia invaded because of NATO provocations from the USA. How does Germany prevent being invaded? Germany needs to show military strength, because Nazi Germany could not be reasoned with diplomatically."
    What the fuck dude?

    guys stop it haha, the beeping out was absolutely unnecessary, ask anyone who is only barely informed about hate speech legislation in Germany, such talk definitely doesnt fall under it and there is no need to convey the impression it would even if James Jackson seems to enjoy if it were so so he can be a freedom fighter

    This is all about the nuclear military complex. Germany does not need nuclear reactors because they don't have nuclear weapons. If you take the actual costs of the whole technology including the tear down then it is clear that nuclear is just too expensive even without an accident. Russia supported German unification and left first before the British and French left,, the Americans are still there. This is a very right wing British subject who should probably not be talking about Russia dominating other people without reflecting about why we should be trusting the British then.
