I volunteered, I offered to work/do internships for free just to get my foot in the door. Nope, didnt matter. Five years after graduation, I gave up trying to land something in the field. Because I knew it was pointless. So yeah, dont waste your time or your money doing a bio-related degree. You'll just end up working in job that you could obtained with just a high school diploma in the end.
it isnt common at all and even if it were why is that a bad thing lol

thank you so much for this video! im thinking of doing a bio degree, but im most interested in ecology and conservation and climate change. is a bio degree a good idea?
Environmental science is better suited for these disciplines.
no. i have one, its worthless
I have biomed in BSc and molecular biology in MSc and still confused what role and career there is. Don't do it
@@andreafelix1256 you have which degree?? Environmental science?? You haven’t been able to find work for that career?
@@matiasbeccaglia8786 do enviornmental science, do NOT do a general bio degree. It is too generalized and gives you no qualifications. I've learned that the hard way.
I am considering a BS in Biology to be a clinical scientist. I am hoping to get a MS in genetics to do genetic research…😁
Currently graduated with a bio degree in the arts and now I don’t know what to do with it.
I'm 38 and am wondering if it's too late to work on a biology degree. I think I finally know what I want to do. Is it too late to start a career?
It’s never too late
As long as you’re still breathing its not too late
Thank you! My confidence and motivation lately is not where I would like it to be. These comments are helpful
no! go for it! its never too late. we had one or two people over 20 years older than us when i was in uni, and we were all below 20. she used to sit in our classes like any other student! whats stopping you
Im 47 and thinking the same thing.

I would love to use my biology degree to study the effects of marijuana on the body and mind of humans because even though it is becoming legal in lots of places, we still don’t understand the plant and its benefits completely.
Benifits and disadvantages as well, interesting how you only pointed out benifits. You can't go into studies biased. One thing I am working hard at.
Practical minors are the key.
Lmao, my college didn't do minors, and they're a state university.

It depends on the specific school. If they offer both then the BS might have more requirements.

Can I be a doctor with bachelor degree of biology,”?
Yes
But you can have an undergrad degree in anything to go to medical school
Getting into medical school? Yes. Start being a DOCTOR because you have a bachelor's? Absolutely NOT.
@Grayambition that's true. Though you also need to meet requirements medical schools have. Which usually include what a bachelors in Biology offers. You would extend your time at a university if you do a bachelors that's not in biology
I have a double major BS in biology and chemistry, a minor in gerontology, and did research on COVID and elder care.

Hey, please someone answer:
So Im interested in studying botany and want to pursue a career in it. Does this apply. My local college has bioscience and would get me an associates. Should I go? Is it worth it? Will I be able to transfer and is it possible for me to get an internship while studying? Please answer. I hope to go to my local college in the spring
Sounds like you need to speak to a careers adviser. Check your school's website/ ask them in person. There is also government run webaites that can guide you on careers, sometimes they have contact number too.
