Actually, Pledis is one of the bigger companies, home of After School, Orange Caramel and Nu'Est. I mean, not top 3 but pretty up there. Plus, I thought it was obvious Seventeen would get big. They were big from the start actually because they used to live broadcast from their dance room a few years back when they were infants, so older Kpop fans like myself were already familiar with them when they debuted. They attracted quite a lot of attention at the time because they had a lot of members and also because one of the trainees was super young at the time (Kim Samuel from Produce 101 season 2). Sadly he didn't debut with Seventeen but he's doing very well.
i agree. i dislike when people say "omg pledis is nothing with seventeen" like wtf after school was so popular as well as orange caramel and nu'est's fanbase is so dedicated too. while they did make pledis' name be "up-there" again and saved them from bankruptcy, pledis was a pretty big company from the start like how else would seventeen be able to do some things from the start....
