The fastrac looks best on the richard western trailers IMO. Imagine the hedge cutter on the front of the unimog! You can slide the steering wheel across the cab of the unimog and that would be BRILLIANT for hedge cutting as you are on the left side. Great vid as always

I think the unimog are a very underrated truck/tractor in the farming/construction sector. Would love to see more of them on the road.

When I was on the paper waste job years ago (around when fastracs first came into being) we had a mog on demo for hauling out to farms. I remember it was baking hot in there as the hydraulic tank was directly behind the cab and also there was an additional tank fitted to give enough oil capacity to open tailgates and tip full height. those issues seem to have been resolved now? still a buzz to drive though

Fastest or fastrac
Not a drop of rain here in Kent so jealous of seeing the rain you have on the plus side harvest is almost wrapped up around here with just a few fields of spring barley and wheat and winter beans still to do personally I like the Fastrac on the dump trailer however the Unimog is a close second 92% today.
If you were a farmer in the south and east of the UK you would not be complaining about the rain.

My favourite tractor on the dump trailer is the 7710 cuz it’s sounds really well but for long draw the unimog probably a lot faster 👍

I think years ago it was one of the guys from Flawborough farms who said he genuinely believed Unimogs would be the future of arable farming during harvest/ drilling m/ spraying operations etc. I can’t see him being far off to be honest. It’s a hell of a machine, arguably more versatile than the 724 & faster than the fastrac - what more could you really want? 10hp shy off the 936 although I don’t think it’s anywhere near the contact area or weight 🤣
The Unimog looks good , is it still classed as a tractor or would you need an hgv licence to drive it ?

Fastrac and dump trailer the perfect match in my opinion. Would be good if you could stiffen the suspension on the ‘Moggy’ for field work otherwise it is mainly a transport vehicle . . . . . . . but a great one at that ! ! ! 80%
I guessed 150 on the Unimog (which seemed low compared to the other guesses!) and I wasn't far off!
You have most of my favourite tractors, but I like the 724
Unimogs are great but they have there limitations we have a u500 and it's done about 18000 hours great for road work. But for field work they lack grip and weight will never replace a tractor in the field but on the road it's a different animal. Fuel consumption is great pulls like a train but go in a wet field with weight no good.
Planning is a nightmare they make things ver hard work .Fastrac looks best on the dump trailer .i like the Unimog it certainly looks a great vehicle feeling 98% today great video Ollie

Some Unimogs have the nifty option of having switchable left or right hand drive were you move the steering and pedals from one side to the other. Handy for hedge trimming. 😀Has that one got it? I had £163K for the price but I think there was a few closer.
Excellent blog Olly - I don’t know where you do your shopping, but £155k for a new 350 U Unimog sounds a bit cheap!?? It certainly is one hell of a tractor there’s no doubt about that. Would be interesting to see it doing some proper field work in comparison with the Fastrac. 🚜

Send a couple of days of rain down to Suffolk, haven't seen a decent puddle for months. Unimog is cheap compared to a top end Merc car. Do they do a longer wheelbase model with a deck for a demount? Make a brilliant spreader / sprayer for a contractor.

Got to see the unimog today, was behind it on water lane. Looks a lot bigger close up. Would you be able to put the fert spreader on the back of it and be able to use it ?

Demo a mog few years ago wasn’t that impressed so went for a fendt. Used it mowing couldn’t get on with not being central. Good road speed though.

I’m surprised at the price of the unimog , like you said that against a tractor price and the hp is getting up by the fastrac 8300 range . Does your farm benefit from having a unimog is a question to think about and maybe farmers can’t get their heads around it not looking like a tractor …. Be great on the tractor run too . Keep up the great work lads
350k seems a lot but as you said the other day,next year it will look cheap. Plus less breakdowns besides it dries your corn for free so you can drill earlier. What price do you put on that. That tree waste doesn't just appear, they got to pay to tip. Win all round.
