  • I would like to have a battery-powered air compressor to keep in the car "just in case" for the tires and for air mattresses, inflatable toys etc. The Air Hawk Pro- bit.ly/AirHawkPro looks good on paper but a few minutes into testing it "anomalies" occur.

    Folks do not listen to this guy. This product works great when you READ directions. The reason it is not working right because he does not have air hose screwed in properly, the gold thread that is showing means it is not screwed all the way in by pushing in while screwing it in untill you do not see any GOLD thread showing. Fault is his not the product.

    Most of the "as seen on tv" things are junk. I buy some at Walmart and end up taking most of them back. Good honest review, guys.

      It's a shame, they take some really great concepts and totally screw up the execution.

      Ron Goodin I'm new to buying as seen on tv products by purchasing the Hurricane Spin Scrubber, Mattress Wedge, and Rocky Mountain Tumbler and have found that all of them work excellently.

      Ron Goodin I never knew that as seen on TV products were junk. They all look liked they worked so well I thought they were the highest quality made in USA products available. Thank you for letting me know, I was just about to order a Flowbee

    The best for a low price is the VIAIR air compressor model 00088 that hooks up directly to your car battery. 10 foot power cord and 16 foot hose. No blown fuses to worry about like the plug ins. No recharging needed. It fills tires fast and it only costs around $55.00 on Amazon. Worth every penny.

    How does it perform in winter conditions? If you leave it in your car overnight, will it kill the battery charge? I can imagine being stuck somewhere along a roadside, and having to wait 2-3 hours for the battery to finally charge enough to use it. If I have to wait that long, I might as well call AAA. Lol.

    Thanks for the review. I think I'll pass. Might I suggest a Stanley 500 Battery Charger with Air Compressor that you can find at Walmart & Amazon for about $75/85. I feel the $15-25 difference is worth it to have the battery charger with the air compressor. BTW, the compressor goes up to 110 PSI. You just take it in the house & plug into wall socket with short extension cord to charge the internal battery & then toss it in the back of your vehicle. It last about 6/8 good heavy uses before needing to be recharged. It has a test button so you can see when it needs recharging. As a disabled female who cherishes her independence, it has save me numerous times over the years. The PSI readout isn't digital; but is fairly accurate. When I walk out to a dead battery, I'm charged up & running in just a few minutes. My first one lasted for 15-20 years & I saved enough in tow truck bills to pay for it. The Hawk is lighter but I can't stoop in order to do most of what you did, where the Stanley allows me to bend over for a short time to attach & then stand while using it. Then bend over a short time to disconnect. The internal battery will hold a charge for close to 6 months with minimal use. It also has the attachments to inflate balls & air mattresses although I've never needed them & can't attest to how well they work. Didn't mean to do an ad for the Stanley; but, you might want to try one to see how you like it!!!

    Is there a "RESET" Button or Procedure....
    Also, the Tire that it fritzed out on WAS already at 33psi WHEN it Started to Run for only about a Minute...
    Which may be the "Cause" of it Starting the Fritz-Out...
    And... At that Point, maybe a Cool Down Period of Time was being Called for... If not a Total Reset...???
    AND...
    I'm also thinking that the Light WAS On Outside, unbeknownst to you, which may have Shortened its Predicted Time of Operation...???
    Great Video...!!!

    The fix a flat brand you have does work on car tires and it good for one tire per can. Even though it is in Spanish it is the same in English. As for the piece you lost I would look around the yard for it before discarding the compressor as it should be close to where it came off the unit.

    You should check how much air it can actually pump per minute.
    Another way is to check how much Watts of power it uses.
    It should be at least 150 Watts (which is 12.5 Amps at 12V), but higher is better.

    WOW 1 minute to pump half a pound. if your tire was 15lbs low you'd be sitting there for ever. thats if it even has enough power which I dont think it does. they have small ones that you can get on amazon for 20$ that work better then this. tnx for the review.

      Certainly possible. There might be some little spring or lever that turns on pressure reading mode.

    Try pumping a tire that is completely flat. I don't think it has enough power/ pressure to pump a car tire all the way up.

    • @czarzenana5125
      @czarzenana5125 7 лет назад

      Sure, a powerful small compressor can easily draw 20 Amps or more at 12V and your lighter connection is possibly fused with 10 Amps. Check your fuses.

    • @luiscannon8808
      @luiscannon8808 7 лет назад

      Dana, you have blown the fuse at the back of your cigarette lighter, take the female part out and replace the fuse that looks like a piece of solder wire, it will be melted. Replace it with a new piece of solder wire wrapped in elec tape in the middle, fixed! Use the outlet in your centre console as it can stand more amps.

    • @Seadweller451D
      @Seadweller451D 6 лет назад

      Dana uriostegui - Check your fuse. If a device overloads the electrical system, the fuse will falter before damaging the system.

    You know what, this junk costs 119.95€ + 9.95€ = 129.90 euro here in Finland. That’s 160 (!) USD. The Tvins TV-ad is hilarious. Actually it is so well made that these are sold much for that ridiculous price. On the video they show how it inflates the tire in few seconds. That’s why your 6 minutes doesn’t sound impressive. I received the old model for free some 10 yrs ago and had to throw it to recycling bin as it was that useless. I have Proxxon compressor in my car. It is much more silent and looks better and the only minus is that it needs 12 volt from the car battery. But then you don’t have flat battery in your Compressor when you need it. And it has (accurate) analogue pressure gauge.
