      Certainly a few things that play into that but the last couple years the tactical play from Montgomery in my eyes has been the most notable with their “record breaking season” being probably the best tactical team I’ve seen in years! Team buy-in as well plays a huge part for the B’s as their commitment to the tactics in large part is the reason for their success!

    I love what they did, including the depth players who all have the potential to mix in and upwards. Now, add the upside for the rather big 18-year-olders that they drafted. They fixed "other" problems by adding Zadorov and Lindholm. When The Charlies (Mac and CC) can play their game, the team is better. Pasta should get more chances. Ultimately, this is not a team that can or will be bullied. And there are two coaches in their division that seem to enjoy doing this: part of their strategy.

    • @blackngoldproductionsllc
      @blackngoldproductionsllc  3 месяца назад +2

      Definitely. A lot of Bruins fans wrote them off after the Ullmark trade but this was clearly the plan all along. Get tougher, stronger, and play physical because it’s what works for them especially under their tactical umbrella. Hopefully the Charlies (I like that) can find their game but I do believe they will. Gonna be a fun team to watch!

    • @exturkconner
      @exturkconner 3 месяца назад

      I mean you list Heinen, JVR, and DeBrusk and didn't really replace any of them in a meaningful way. That's 3 of your top 10 scorers if you weren't aware. Lindholm you hope will replace one of those guys production. And you hope that Brazeau and Poitras with growth will replace the others. But that's all just a hope game. On paper we are worse.

    • @exturkconner
      @exturkconner 3 месяца назад

      @FempireAudios Yeah no. That's not Lindholms game. He's not a center who elevates talent. He's a center who can get elevated by talent. You hope that playing with Pasta and Marchand or Pasta and Zacha sees him score more. What he does do, by himself, is drive possession. Which was one of our teams biggest flaws. And what he does do is win faceoffs in the playoffs. Which was one of our teams biggest flaws. Pasta isn't going to score more with Lindholm. If anything he'll score less. But it won't matter because the other team will also score less because they won't be playing in our defensive zone.

    • @exturkconner
      @exturkconner 3 месяца назад

      @FempireAudios Geekie is a 1 for 1 replacement for DeBrusk production and you already have him and he's cheap. Frederic is a 1 for 1 replacement for DeBrusks production and you already have him and he's cheap. They'll just slot one of those guys up and the guy they slot up will get replaced on the third line by slotting up Brazeau who was on pace to score 20 goals and you hope will continue on that pace. It makes more sense to do that then take a swing on a random player that hasn't been good and hope you can fix them.

    • @exturkconner
      @exturkconner 3 месяца назад

      @FempireAudios DeBrusk gave you 3rd liner production. 20 goals 40 points. Geekie does the same. Frederic does the same. Are we talking about upgrading or replacing? If we are talking about replacing like I said 1 for 1 replacement. If we are talking about upgrading that's a different conversation and we don't have the cap for that but again you also aren't going to be adding a project for that either. Lindholm isn't a swap for DeBrusk Lindholm is the center you needed. DeBrusk is a 2 way winger and that's cool but DeBrusk doesn't drive possession. He's easily replaced. Lindholm isn't a guy who's easily replaced. We didn't have that guy last year and we suffered for it. And there's none other options for that guy around. Even Draistl with the Oilers finally signing some dudes to play with him is probably more likely to stay put now than any other time in the last 3 years.

    Joining the chorus, that secondary scoring needed to be improved upon and on paper actually got worse. It's always nice to say someone will step up but until someone does...I was looking for Bertuzzi or Terravainen and depth defenseman and instead got yet another "future fan favorite" defenseman and a depth forward.

    • @blackngoldproductionsllc
      @blackngoldproductionsllc  3 месяца назад

      I think part of the argument becomes that at some point you have to make room for these guys who don’t fit as bottom 6 forwards just based off skill and lack of size. That’s one of the biggest problems the Bruins have had over the years with their system is making room for these types of players who are stuck behind existing and long term players (Coyle, DeBrusk, Lysell, Bussi). Eventually you either have to get rid of the player in front or the player coming up decides to leave and you get nothing in return. Time will tell for what it is with the Bruins…

    Just a heads up, one way deals don’t work like that regarding waivers. Waiver eligibility has nothing to do with contract status, it’s about nhl games and years in the league.
    Another thing but Jordan Oesterle is 32, the guy won’t “find his game in a couple of years”, he signed here at the chance of being a 7th d who can work his way back into the nhl.

    • @blackngoldproductionsllc
      @blackngoldproductionsllc  3 месяца назад

      I’m not sure if I said that but it’s 100% right! My belief is all those players will clear waivers and play in the AHL this year. Personally I don’t think Oesterle is there to play as the 7th D but rather is there to serve as more of a veteran presence who can help mentor the younger guys. I do think his value could come in the playoffs which is why I said in a couple years he could become the 7th D for the Bruins. Will be interesting to see if he has any impact on the up and coming prospects!

      First line, zacha will play left side Pasta will play right. 7.75 is just the market. He was the best long term option for the bruins. stamkos would have been nice but they wanted someone to run with the core and not worry about it for a few years. The caps gonna go up so the contract will be manageable. Coyle earned the C2 even though he’s not your typical and he’s always been best suited for C3. • @blackngoldproductionsllc
      @blackngoldproductionsllc  3 месяца назад +1

      Although Coyle may not be your typical 1C in my view he’s still a decent option for that 1/2C role. The thing about the Bruins is that they don’t have a set 1st line considering Marchand and Pastrnak are split up. This year, with the addition of Lindholm, that could change but I doubt it keeping Coyle as the 1/2C for the team. It’s very difficult to find a 1C in FA and much more expensive to acquire via trade so for the time being the Bruins will be stuck with what they got. And yes 100% Geekie is a 3rd liner…

    What is it going to take for Boston to build a team that can win in the playoffs. We need big strong players to dump and chase, but also players who can withstand the punishment of a possible 28 game post season grind.
