    The Trail: www.alltrails....
Madeira is a subtropical volcanic Archipelago off the coast of North Western Africa.
Famous for many things, with its hiking trails being one of them. Many have described the landscape as something out of Jurassic Park, and you can see why in this hiking film; misty green mountains, huge waterfalls, lush greenery. Truly one of the best locations for adventure seekers. Madeira is also an island that has benefited from the recent remote worker boom, attracting many digital nomads from around the world.
The two main waterfalls on this trail were first 'Cascata Do Rabo Do Burro', and the 2nd being Poço das Pulgas. Both amazing in their own right and both worth seeing. I love those waterfalls that you can get in and stand under, and with the help of Wildlife Photographer and fellow solo hiker Lenny (@len.wel), who happened to turn up as I was leaving, I was able to climb up to the main level of Poço das Pulgas and feel it's true exhilarating and purifying force, but the first one, Rabo Do Burro, it was too strong to get under. Next time I will try and get closer..
If you're a nature lover who is looking to visit Madeira and hike this trail, do exercise caution, it's not impossible to seriously injure yourself on this one. Definitely worth seeing though, as I would put this in the discussion for best waterfall in Madeira for sure, due to its remote and secretive location which you have to work hard to get to. Madeira has loads of amazing waterfalls, but some of the more popular ones are easier to get to, which can attract people who just come for the picture and not the experience. This is not one of those.
Travel has been hit hard over the 'pandemic', with one of my favourite past times, spontaneous travel, being almost totally destroyed. I am now embracing a slow travel lifestyle, and this was the best hike I captured when I spent 3 weeks in Madeira in September.
    Thanks for watching, enjoy!

Be careful when climbing waterfalls - if he was alone and landed slightly differently, could have been life-ending
