For a moment I thought I was going to be really impressed with some sort of Binary decoded control... 3 switches with 7 output strips. Don't get me wrong, cool project regardless, but I think you missed out on the total geek award! :)
Of course, it's better then my light! Good job!

Are those led strips 7 of them are connected in serial or parallel?
    One strip has 12 leds of 4v each..so per strip 48v ..
How you are maintaining constant current?
    Seems like no resistor used.
Source voltage seems 3.7 to 4.2 as 3 battery are connected in parallel, source current seems 2+2+2=6 Amp.
I m new, sorry of my question is basic. If you reply, it helps a lot.
If constant current is not maintained then led may burn out or doesn't last long so asked

    But...
What about heatsinks for LEDs if it gets hot?

As an electrician, I would not wire the negatives like that. I would do what you did to the positive, splice them all together, then put them all in a screw on wire cap with one wire sticking out, wire that to the switch (neutral) then wire that to a battery, make sure it’s the correct voltage or that the lights a dimmable. Then wire the hot the same way, except skip the switch and go into to the battery. I like dealing with 12v. Get a an 8 AA battery holder. If you get 2 and wire them correctly, you can either double the voltage, in this case I wouldn’t, or double the amperage, which I would do. Just my 2 cents. Thanks. Oh also I would use silicon covered wire. That’s what I like to use. For this, use something like 16, 18, or 20 gauge wire. And get them in the correct colors. Not bare copper and white. Red for neutral and black for hot. ALSO please don’t solder the neutral to the switch. Please crimp it like you’re suppose to do

    • @brianhoehn949
      @brianhoehn949 4 года назад

agreed.. though this is DC so black should be neutral. and it looked like the copper wire was enameled.. though I think it should still be done like you described. that's how I've always done it.
my 2 cents. you should also put some resisters on there.

"High quality"... Yhea right.. First learn how to solder.
you can start by cleaning the tip, dont use coil wire, use better solder, first heat up the pad and the wire THEN add solder...

And not solder on Li-ion cells that do not have a tab ;) This guy has already degraded his cells pretty bad. But that's okay, it's 'high qua-li-ty' as a famous guy from the Isle of Mann would say ;)

@@weeardguy well thats not 100% true, u only damage it when they heat up a lot, if you do it quick and good there isnt any damage

@@sure18kurtesi There actually is a pressure-release-valve under the plus-connection that really does not like soldering if the cells is not made to be soldered. Soldering to the minus gerenally heats up the entire surrounding outside. Considering the maximum ratings mentioned in datasheets, soldering is just a very bad idea in general. Considering the short heating time, this guy did not get good solder joints as his iron is either not powerful enough or heating longer causes more problems.

12:52 This time was sad because the camera was on the front of the light, but it was not well understood how much light this light could produce. Just showed the lights on but could not figure out exactly how much space they could cover well, because the lights were shining on all the cameras.

*It will not last more than 10 min. I guarantee. Foamtape will be loosen after 10 mins because of the high heat radiation from smd led strips. And the led strips will fall apart. Adding to much strips will drain the battery immediately.*
