@@guycomments Nothing wrong necessarily with the current battery design, but the technology hasn't been significantly updated in a long time while we've seen other brands put out more powerful & expensive batteries. I got the Metabo HPT belt sander recently. I’m glad to hear that Makita didn’t magically manage to get more runtime out of a cordless belt sander. These tools are just power hogs.
I'm a sucker for punishment, the Milwaukee, the Kobolt, and the MetaboHPT belt sanders have found their way into my hands with the Dewalt tempting me daily, all three just eat batteries like nothing else. Whoever figures out the efficiency for version 2.0 will win the belt sander wars.
The torque required to run a 10” table saw blade by battery uses a lot of amps. Thats a big mountain to climb for a small battery resulting in poor performance or short run times. 8 1/4” is better suited for battery. If you want 10” without the cord use a 2 kw portable power pack like a Bluetti.
Great video as always. I really hope that makita some day in the near future will launch a XGT 40V version/ equivalet of their LXT DPO600Z Random Orbital Polisher in a 150mm version or alternatively 125mm since these are the most versatile/ allround dimensions in regards to size and shape of the surface-area that many commonly find themself working on but also in regards to accessibility/ usability in some of the thighter spots. If you have ever happened to try polishing an Audi TT MK2 or something with "similar" surface shape/ geometry using for example the larger 160 - 180mm random orbital polishers you will quickly find that the pad rotation very often immediately stalls on many of the (even slightly) concave surfaces and also despite attempting to apply minimal pressure on the polishingmachine/ pad. Secondly they will often leave much larger unpolished (or unevenly polished) areas like in for ex. corners and other geometric shapes that has any form of border or edge that is "raised" uppward/ outward. The rotational stalling is hovever less of a problem if you have the capability to switch from random free rotation to forced rotation like the LXT DPO600Z has, which from what i can see makes it pretty unique in the marked as far as i can see. However when it comes to the final "mirror finish" or wax/ sealant part of polishing many people prefer to use the random free rotation as this is less agressive/ abrasive on the surface and is also less likely to leave micro swirls in the finish than the orbital forced rotation mode is (even despite the fact that i consider orbital forced rotation to be very gentle and lightyears eaiser to learn and master so that you end up with a good result at the all stages of polishing compared to the old "dreaded" rotary polishing machine or as my friend like to call it "the low speed angle grinder")
Love hearing about the table saw!! That’s the only tool I own that is not Makita. What you reckon that would that cost USD? I have the DeWalt 7492 at the moment, but I’m looking to go cordless. I really hope Makita nail this one. And make it a few Db less noisy than the Dewalt. That’s really the only problem I have with it. Thx for the update. Highly appreciated!
@@osocarpinterocarpinteriathe patent picture shows a xgt battery. It seems like Makita is abandoning the lxt platform when it comes to more power hungry tools. Which is a shame because they have the capability with 18v x2

Been waiting for years for Making to redesign a new CORDED table saw. According to their website, all table saws have been "discontinued"(@ least in USA)... Could never understand this. Every rep I talk to has no answers for me. I have the 2703 (over 20 years old ) and it has a fabulous motor but the fence is poop. I have to clamp it to stay in place. Hope they make a CORDED table saw too. If you are making multiple rips a corded table saw is better
I bought the 2705 in decent condition a few years ago off someone locally, I bought it because of how much better the amp draw was compared to pretty much every other model on the market, helping me avoid tripping breakers if I ever have to push the tool hard. I still have it, cleaned it up and modified a bunch of weather strip door brushes to seal up the openings to make dust extraction more efficient, I don't see myself getting rid of or upgrading that thing for a really long time.
I’m a bit of a tool junkie - Mikita, Bosch (blue) mainly. A while back I bought a green Bosch “jigsaw”, well actually it’s like a mini chain saw, but works like a jigsaw. It looked so cool. Well it does do plunge cuts that are difficult on a jigsaw, but oh man it is sooo freakin slowww - about a quarter the speed of even a fine tooth jigsaw. It now collects dust…sitting on a shelf. It barely reaches DIY standard in my opinion and frankly I’m disappointed that a company like Bosch would produce a toy like this one, green or otherwise. One of those tools that no doubt looked amazing in the design phase, but sucks in real life. Big fail this one Bosch.
I agree, the corded Makita table saw was a pile of hot garbage. I managed to make a 2.5 metre timber frame window sill with one but it was a struggle to say the least. Hopefully they make it similar to the DeWalt or Milwaukee

Thank you. I have a corded Bosch 4x24 that I’ve had for years, it’s a monster, for bigger stuff I’d use that which is why the run time isn’t that concerning. Yes a belt sander draws a lot of power. This one looks awesome I like the inverted clamp too

For a shop setting, it’s pointless. But if you work on-site new construction or even remodels, you don’t always have an electrical outlet nearby.
