What a beautiful story, thank you so much for sharing this! No matter how successful I become I will ONLY wear Armitron from now on in honor of this great man. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Wow, I would have never guessed correctly about the story behind Armitron watches! Great history, I love Armitron watches because they look very sharp, keep good time and are affordable. My hat’s off to you, Mr. Gluck!
Wow. I am blown away by this video. I never knew about Armitron's history. I am a grandchild of survivors who also came to the US and started a business, so I am extra touched by this.
I was 18 years old and I had just 2 months in America. I was working for this company in the warehouse. At that time the company’s was located in the c building of “la guardia college” I was in the elevator and this old man was talking to me and asking me how I’m doing and how long been working there. Then he gave me amazing advices about life. this person made me feel good and important, that was MR GLUCK. Amazing human being!
Okay, here's my story. I got my first watch from my grandmother when I was 10 years old. It was the cheapest watch in the store, $10. She said, "an important man needs a good watch." From prison to law school, through homelessness in the winters of New York, to buying my third house, and a hell of a lot more, my Armitrons have always kept running. These are just good damn watches.
What a wonderful man. He seems to have been able to see the wonderfulness of other people. His legacy lives in those who remember his passion in living and sharing life. It is great to see his horology endeavor continue in his remembrance. I have a gold tone watch that I’ve owned for almost 20 years that is now losing its color but the design and style still shine. It is one of my favorite watches. I seldom wear it now, to keep it from completely losing its gold color. I continue to replace the battery just to keep it running.
This is a really nice story, armitron as a watch has been one of the companies I've probably seen the most qc issues out of along with the lowest longevity, but I really want to see them succeed, I think they're going in a good direction nowadays
I loved this video so much, I just bought a Griffy. I don't know why I haven't looked at Armitron more often for affordable watches. That has now changed forever.
Like, I just googled armitron because I had no idea of what it was. Their not exactly my style of watches but now I want one just so I can be reminded of this amazing story of courage, honesty and caring.
Nice to know more about the brand that got me interested in watches. Been wearing a 40/8177SIL since 2010 and a 40/8218GRY since 2014. Only issue with both is the resin band tore across like a sheet of paper one day unexpectedly so I had to get another one..of both. Got the red versions of both and customized them to my liking 👍🏽
Growing up in the 80's a digital watch, with calculator was THE thing. I remember this brand from when I was 9 or 10. I think I had one. In past few years "hipsters" have started wearing the 80's digital watches as a retro thing, lol.
I have an old, cheap, digital watch in my drawer. I bought it no later than 1985. The case is all worn; the strap was replaced decades ago. But it won't die - it just keeps working no matter what I do to it. Today I wondered who made it. It says "E. GLUCK CORP HONG KONG" on the back. I wondered who that was...and ended up here. Wow. My hat is off to Mr. Gluck.
interesting history. i just got an armitron watch for christmas from my dad. its one of the fashion watches that for reasons only god knows has no indices so its essentially useless for keeping time...the one function a watch is primarily responsible for. i dont know how to break it to him that i prefer my watches functional.
Who the heck doesn't know what Armitron is?! even if you're not a wrist watch fanatic like myself, you would at least think that at some point in your life you're going to need a watch go shopping for one and come across the name. Idk to me it's just crazy that someone would ask that question

what do you do for a living/in hopes to be successful?
ChilledTea This and that...I’m an artist and a writer. ☺️
@@NadiaInNewYork I never would have imagined bumping into you here of all places. Your watch doesn't equal success. Your time does ✌️😉👍
@@Ubermentsh Well said! 👏👏👏
One of the best corporate videos I've ever seen.

From this day on, I'll feel even prouder to wear one of my three, lovely Armitrons. What a beautiful man Mr. Gluck was.
Just got my first adult Armitron digital watch! I think I had one as a kid, but I wanted to contribute to Mr. Gluck's legacy and memory!
What a nice video!

Duh.
This video is masterful. Does anyone know what agency created this video for Armitron?
It was Semaphore Studio. Douglas Gautraud directed it and I know... cause I am me...

This video absolutely blew me away. I’m definitely ordering a Griffy right now.
And for this…I will continue buying Armitron watches.❤
Good show Armitron. You just made a sale. 😁
I recently ordered an Armitron Miles 42mm watch. I wonder why it's named Miles. 🤔

Ps: it was never good to be a Jew in europe or Russia....
Excellent. I saved this one.
Gonna buy their watch asap.

Low quality now, get my Griffy damaged, no any feedback
