I'm painting a Witcher figure and this is SO helpful!
I'm having a blast watching your videos, you are the reason I finally decided to buy a 3D printer, you models look amazing and the tutorials you make are perfect, full of useful info.
Thank you!
Excellent leather effect video. THANKS!!! The reason I like your videos and learn so much is because you go straight to the point, no fancy stuff, just what works.
Damn that depth of colour & how they pop more once that Krylon spray is dry! Nice work man, look forward to seeing Indie finished!
Thanks! That's why I call it my "secret weapon". That stuff is gold in a can.
Dude you teach me so much. I really thank you.
Happy to hear that!
thank you, love the effect, could you make a Jean effect tutorial please !!!
Check out my Mary Jane video. I did that effect on there!
You are truly skilled. I watched this 3 times so far.
Thanks!
Very impressive thanks for your video
Thanks for watching!
I've been on a binge of your videos... really digging your content man
Thanks!
interesting. I am actually taking notes. It would be really helpful if you could include a list of the paint / washes, etc. in videos like these. so we could cut and paste...lol
That's something I'm working on.
Misposted this to the wrong video originally, sorry!
Incredible technique. Will be using it 100% on my Indy figure. If you ever are looking to redo this figure swing my IndyGear for references on the actual costume; the fedora and bag are felt and canvas respectively and not leather. Though I'm not complaining artistically at how well they came out in your video. Well done.
And Sanix, if you're reading this quick update to the jacket, shirt and boots to make them screen accurate would just elevate this to the "Perfect Indy Figure" title easily.
thank you....thank you very much for this tutorial. I have learned a lot with your videos
That's awesome! Really what I love to hear!
Thank you very much very helpful! Got a few models to try this on, I will let you know how it works! Thank you for all the great content! And LOVE all the Punisher models.
Great! Can't wait to see your work. ANd thanks for tuning in!
Awesome techniques on this one! Will have to try it out on some models, definitely learned a few things thanks man🙏
And thank you for watching!
Man that looks good mate
Dope video keep them coming, Love ur painting techniques
Thank you! Will do!
Great video. It looks so realistic.
Thank you sir! 😊
Very nice job sir, very informative
Thank you sir!
Great stuff man.
Thanks man!
Even real leather don't look this real 👍🏼
Dude thanks so much. lol
Really like the setup of the video as well. Would it be ok if I ask for a description of your video setup? Regular iphone or dedicated camera? Just curious! All the best
Laurens
Right now I'm just using the camera on my cell phone. I'm hoping to get a actual camera in the near future.
Just a quick question; when you applied the black wash, you used paper towel on bag. But did you not use it on jacket? just washed and let it dry?
ON the jacket I just washed and dried.
great work could you tell me the colors you used for the shirt and trousers thanks
I used an Iraqui sand, and different browns for the pants and an off white with a brown wash for the shirt. It took some tinkering around.
@@TheCreativeCollector thanks for you reply 👌👍👍👍👍
You were right. After you sealed, it looked amazing 😱. Thanks for the tips 🙌🏻! By the way, for a complete beginner (painting), would you recommend to buy bottles or painting sets? and if sets, which would you suggest?
You cant go wrong with sets. Buy the basic and start with that. As you paint more, you'll need more colors. Just buy what you need. Contrary to most people you don't need every single color out there.
@@TheCreativeCollector Hahaha yeah. I have been searching "how to mix acrylic paint colours" I just need to figure out how to go from a normal colour to a flourescent or metallic colour.
Before I forget thanks a lot for your "How I Mix and Apply My SKIN TONES" 👌.
@@andredupont7598 i be in the same boat so i just went full army painter but im starting to see the Vallejo model colors work better so im slowing grabbing those paints but army painter is what im stick with for now
I tried using Army Painter. I really did. But they just don't go on as smooth as Vallejo for me. Just my preference I guess.
@@MMQsTacosConLimons The Mega Set or the whole set? 😅
Can you make a tutorial for ghost riders leather black jacket?
It all works the same way. You just gotta pick your colors
congratulations. Could you tell me what colors you used for the shirt and pants?
All of the colors are listed in the video. I think a beige for the shirt and flat brown for the pants.
@@TheCreativeCollector the colors look different. did you use vallejo for all? The ones used in the video are 70,871 leather brow. 70,983 flat earth. 71,024 khaki brown.
When washing, how long do you let the wash sit before wiping excess off?
I try to get it off while still wet but you can dampen a cloth a little if it's dry and still wipe it off
Very nice video. I did my leather a little different. Used brown over black, then dry brushed some dark orange and some yellow at the end. Doesn’t look as nice as yours but it looks like leather though. Love your videos cause I’m picking up so many techniques. I’m gonna have about 30 or so models to paint in the next few weeks :| lord help me. Heh.
Thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one with a huge backlog. lol
Im currently painting this same model (Sanix rules!) and Im kinda scared to do the shirt and trousers lol. As they are pretty flatish I dunno if I hit it with wash (which I preffer as I suck at manual shading) and wipe majority of it off... DUnno.. great video tho!
You never know till you try. Remember you can always paint over.
@@TheCreativeCollector Yeah, I will try tonigth. The satchel looks great (copied from your Indy video haha) so lets hope for the best! Thanks for the videos!!!
Awesome tutorial, I’m doing a punisher model right now and am gonna use this as a reference using brown for the worn areas! Any tips for doing eyes? That’s my kryptonite lol
Eyes can be tricky. Its a matter of being able to see that small. I use magnifying optical headgear to see up close. Try that. It helped me big time.
I’ll have to pick one up and give it a go, thanks for the tip!
hi, is that grey primer on the pieces or you just paint base colors on grey resin?
I do use grey primer.
is this the same technique you use for Gambit also?
Yes it is.
which color did you use for the trousers and the shirt?
It was a base tan and light brown wash with a little light tan dry brush
So for a soft dry brush like that, how would you clean it?
Just rinse it out with water and pat dry with a paper towel
Where can you buy these figures?
From different patreons. Check some Facebook groups.
Printed the model on which printer?
Linant Deck printer
is it the same method as black leather
Yes! The only real difference is you just reverse the colors. Put the black down first then dry brush with the brown. Lighten up on more worn areas.
Where to get this awesome model? I'll subscribe if you tell me ;)
It's from Sanix.
