I will never forget the weeks prior to the launch of GWIMBLY 1. The whole company was on edge, devs crunching day and night. Tony got married in his cubicle so he could continue fixing the stage 3 bugs during the festivities. He was one hell of a coder.
Yeah, but the emulators nowadays are kind of shit for it. It’s just not made for modern systems and doesn’t always adapt well. Which sucks because it’s such a good game.
I swear I found a secret entrance to level 4 in the original as a young lad. Unfortunately my dog urinated on my Playsation 1 so I lost my progress. I havent found any evidence of it since.
Remember when the unreleased "Gwimbly CDi" was leaked to the internet during the late 2000's? The cutscenes of that game were so cheesy, people made lots of YTPs of it, and I loved these videos! They were what introduced to the Gwimbly franchise.
Don't forget that one character in the item shop that had literally two lines of dialogue, yet somehow people have made him recite the whole Bible! Gwimbly fans are something else, man..
This is a suprising well researched video, i hope this blows up! I think one you forgot to mention was that the Gwimbly gun was actually an idea requested by fans. They kept sending fanart to IGBG of Mr.Millipede with guns, at a time where gaming companies were quite out of touch with their fanbases. I would love to see you cover Catastrophe Crow, or maybe a deeper dive into why the Medal of Honor franchise didnt go beyond Xbox360
this is not a video about smiling friends. it's about the game series "Gwimbly". your probably thinking of the recent cross promotion between the two brands, where Gwimbly starred in a SF episode, and Mr. Boss was playable in Gwimbly Smash Bros
I still can't get over the later GWIMBLY games dropping the Del Monte branding on the cans of creamed corn. I know it was just product placement, but coincidence or not the series was never the same after they lost it.
The memories me and my friends had of hanging out at each other‘s houses on a weekend and playing hours upon hours of Gwimbly games. It’s sad that you had one final day of youth and you didn’t realize it had long since past. Thank you and to quote this video game icon. “oo oo oo”
No, that was literally just "Paper Mario II" with a "Gwimbly" theme. I remember playing it in a Wal-Mart display and was just not a fan, even though I was a little kid,
you should add some imperfections to the posters in the background so they look more like posters. Like rips and a curled up corner or something. It'd look cooler and it'd be a little less confusing since they kind of look like they're being presented in the same way as the assets you're talking about
As a child, my father's parents owned a Playstation I. and I played it when I went up there, throughout the early 2000's AD We had a few titles, but the ones I remember the most were "Crash Bandicoot", "Gwimbly I", and "Gwimbly III". We had the sequels of the same but they don't really bring back memories like those two. I actually beat "Gwimbly I" and "Gwimbly III" but was never able to defeat "Crash Bandicoot I" or "Gwimbley II". The last one I played was "Gwimbly III" and, honestly, I thought the addition of the gun was a cool thing. "Crash Bandicoot", "Banjo-Kazooie", and the like didn't have a gun, and the incongruency between a platforming game and shooting like a third-person shooter was something never successfully imitated outside of the "Gwimbly" franchise. Sure, other games tried it, but it was just a gimmick or a single level. (I mean, the ice-skating level in "Pacman World II" was awesome, but it didn't need the gun!)
I always found the Japanese versions of Gwimbly fascinating. Gameplay wise, it's too easy and Japanese Gwimbly sounds too adorable though I'm not a fan of the Japanese version's replacement tracks.
The European versions can be even weirder; the German Gwimbly still sounds pretty cute but there’s a ton of racist imagery and characterizations added to those versions, but hot diggety dog are the European releases smooth to play.
Gwimbly totally revolutionized the 3d platformer genre, i still remember people talking about the graphics, responsive gameplay and incredible level design of the og trilogy, it really felt like a next gen experience. Tbh i wish IGBG would remake or just port gwimbly to modern platforms, everyone should play this masterpiece at least once in their lives. Too bad they just want to focus on live service games...
My First Introduction To Gwimbly Was The Crossover With Batman The Animated Series When The Duo Fight A Copy Named Vilaxey Who Was Working With The Chinese Triad Over Illegal Spices Just To Promote Gwimbly’s Upcoming Show
I Don’t Like AI Art, But You Can’t Expect A Tiny One Robot Channel With Less Then 1k Subs To Commission Over 100 Images. It Would Financially Ruin The Show.
The unsung hero we should have gotten.. I really wish i had the chance to score the 4th unfinisged gwimbly game... Ive been musician for 25 years.. They denied alll my applications... Darn you!!
No mention of The People vs Gwimbly? The Ace Attorney crossover they did with Capcom? I know it didn't do gonzo numbers, but it has a cult-like following in Brazil to this day.
Gwimbly 3 was the very best of Gwimbly! It had inspired a Machinima series that doesn’t need stupid memes to stay relevant and popular! Gwimbly 3 is a ten outta ten!
Oh man, even though he is considered one of the weakest in the saga Gwimbly RPG the secret of creamed corn will always have a space in my heart It is not a good Gwimbly game but it is one of the best RPGs there is and precursor to the system of morality
Gwimbly Smash Bros is a cool game but the O.J. Simpson character is WAY TOO OP. Once he starts charging you and takes out his signature knife-slashing technique, it's over. They need to nerf him down a notch. Maybe give him PTSD or something, idk.
You know what, gwimbly was overrated, I'm sorry, I tried to get in it but couldn't find that charm, how ever it's snowboarding spin off was better then the platformer games.
@@nightygamer11xI’m with you on this one. It’s always best to avoid AI art, and try either commissioning the art or just using random google photos. Pinterest is good for photos too!
Alr guys, ik this is an unpopular opinion, and i know gwimbly fans can get quite feral when a game they like is criticized, but i just have to say that paper gwimbly 2: creamed carnage was arguably the weakest game in the entire gwimbly franchise. Yeah the mister millipede motorbike was a fun gimmick, and the creamed cornator was an excellent idea, but the story itself just felt a bit convoluted.. plus i absolutely despised the level where you had to find the golden corn kernel amongst the stacks of creamed corn cans. It just felt way too tedious and difficult for a game that was largely aimed at tadpoles... 🙁
I’m so glad this bullshit doesn’t actually make exist. Don’t get me wrong I love the episode but I collect ps1 games dude I’m not trying to have prices artificially go up for some dumb shit like this lol
Also your aware that the ps1 had way more space right it makes very little in the way of sense for the specific n 64 version to feature an open world but go off with your nostalgia
Real talk though, I love how this video is filled with Easter eggs from a whole bunch of other platformers Like I think there's the aesthetic of Banjo Kazooie, the popularity and gun mechanics of Megaman, the secret levels and Level themes of crash bandicoot, the plot of Donkey Kong, the elemental guns of Ty the Tazmanian Tiger, the troubled development history and fan artwork of Sonic the Hedgehog, how theres Mario Kart clones everywhere and a bunch of modded gameplay from stuff like jet set radio There's probably a whole bunch more

am I the only one just finding out about this??

Definitely An Iconic GWIMBLY Moment !
poor guy cant do the dance without collapsing now

Gwimbly 3 was my personal favorite, the Gwimbly gun really stepped up the gameplay.

I used to play these all the time
Damn, i have played since i was a tadpole
Not the “toomars”. I can’t believe they referenced tomars heinous warcrimes in such a kid friendly game.
Grumble 3: Gwimbly's Revenge was my favorite in the series. My brother and I used to play the hell out of that game
Gwimbly for smash
Does anyone remember gwimbly reloaded? The fps game that tried to compete with tf2?
