Kenan Thompson is like a time traveler. He shows up in sketches from decades ago looking exactly the same.
ianbob the only difference is he lost a ton of weight recently.
Yes Kenan has been unfunny for a really really long time.

@@rolivas303 you're absolutely correct, he is a LEGEND when it comes to being forcefed into skits. He detracts from every skit he's in.
@Darrell Williams it's obviously all a matter of opinion but I believe I'm in good company when I say he's better suited for Nickelodeon than he is SNL.
Kudos to the wig department. They should have a SNL line of wigs.
The installations are what make them work so well!

I really liked the music. Rainn actually took the skits seriously instead of reading it from the cue cards. He is a good actor!!
I love that the harp player starts all the songs in a different nebulous place, like somewhere in the middle, and they all know exactly what to play.
here we can see a wild Dwight in his natural habitat, enjoying weird music.

This would be one of the schrutes that was too weak and was meant to be eaten during the harsh winters. Just kidding. They never ate the children.. It never came to that.

It's actually 13 years old (as of 2020)... the skit is from 2007, posted in 2013. And agree, it's classic. They could do an entire series of "angry New Age ______" skits.

The very start, where Fred Armisen is rocking the keyboard, made me lose it immediately. Not even one second into it, and I was rolling. Something about that guy just makes me laugh.

Sounds like Shadowfax, they were my favorite New Age band I think. The band was really tight, more jazzy and soulful than some of the airy fairy stuff like Enya.
I love how he just says "from somewhere in the middle," because it makes no difference if they start at the same place 🤣

I was about to disagree, but then I remembered that Dwight got into meditation at the start of Season 8. Maybe that's when he decided to start Riverbliss. :-)
Funny how the music doesn't involve the keyboard but Fred's still pretending to play it.
Keyboards can emulate a ton of different instruments.

Steve E. Brown - yes, it has Fred the musician satirist written all over it. I love all the overblown musician posturing, especially the way the harp player touches his precious hair all the time and Fred’s spastic keyboard moves.

I think the most "real " thing here was how he channeled all the negativity in by his sick pep talk. They didn't even look like they HAD a problem until the harp leader talked.
I'd totally buy their album.
I love New Age music, one of my if not my all-time favorite genres, and this sketch cracks me up. 😉😆 Some people need to meditate with some crystals.
This has to be up there as one on my all-time favourites.
