I know some people are doing to rip into Malik for his performance in that short time, but he didn't turn the ball over and showed flashes of what he's capable of. He needed that experience. Give the kid time. He learned a helluva a lot from this.
Malik did just about everything right when he was in there. Protect the ball and get a few first downs. That pass he threw to the end zone was ill advised but in actuality, it should have been caught by Kern (it was a missile though).
He just need reps you can tell he lacks command of the offense he is a run first qb and that's fine but he better get with kjs nutrition guy and put on some weight. He will be fine but as a fellow poster said this shows this is KJ'S team going forward

Pushing hog players and qb when already out of bounds and a A&M lineman had a face mask on a defensive back even the commentator mentioned it! Alot of missed calls! One thing I didn't see in this game on Arkansas side was targeting which is excellent!
I think people were quick to judge Malik after this but he did what was needed and nearly scored if kern catches that ball. I feel confident knowing that if he is able to get more comfortable we have a reliable 2nd option. Most of the mistakes made while he was in the game were due to a lack of connection between him and the line
Yeah it’s not fair to judge him based off this game when he was in it was strictly let’s waste time our defense will hold them no ones offense is gonna look good when your strictly running it and trying to waste as much time as you can but dudes fast no doubt about that but he had a tendency to go very far back in pressure and he almost got hit with some long sacks because of it but overall he did his job and he’s only gonna get better WPS
Malik did what was asked of him. A&M's defense woke up in the 2nd half so he was legit thrown into the fire. He didn't turnover and he worked off good bits of time. I'm satisfied!
I've been re watching these highlights and that interception at 7:23 is so crazy. Calzada throws the ball, it's a spiral until it hits the o-lineman's head, then it goes wild. Pool jumps in the air with all his might and tips it. At that point the ball transforms from a rogue ball into a sideways spiral, generating just enough lift for Brown to fully extend his body, pick it inches from the ground, and control it to complete the INT. You could do a 20 minute video on that INT just by explaining the physics of the ball and the players.

Once again in the distance a faint WPS could be heard, which once again turned into a Rumble, fear could be seen in the eyes of the men women and children as the ground began to shake, a wave of Hog raiders crashed into Arlington. The wave of Raiding Hogs leaving nothing in its path but the broken remnants of what was once known as the great state of Texas. As fast as it started it ended, and the Raiding Hogs were gone. So started the Years of famine and despair. WPS!!!
I’ll be honest: I was a little worried after the Rice game but especially that first half. KJ was overthrowing slants and other easy throws, but seeing the kind of accuracy on the first touchdown and the ball placement on the pass at 4:40 is night and day difference, and that kind of play has been consistent since Week 2. I think it’s safe to say that kind of QB play we saw against Rice was not characteristic of KJ at all.

I'm extremely proud to say Saban's downfall started when Kirby Smart came home to Georgia. We were ripped off in 2017. But the recruits and college football all saw a shift happening. I know some people are doing to rip into Malik for his performance in that short time, but he didn't turn the ball over and showed flashes of what he's capable of. He needed that experience. Give the kid time. He learned a helluva a lot from this.
He just wasnt ready for that big of a moment is all. I'm excited at the flashes of athletic ability and confidence he showed.
Malik did just about everything right when he was in there. Protect the ball and get a few first downs. That pass he threw to the end zone was ill advised but in actuality, it should have been caught by Kern (it was a missile though).
I believe the more important thing was people got to see that KJ deserves to be the outright starter for a reason
He just need reps you can tell he lacks command of the offense he is a run first qb and that's fine but he better get with kjs nutrition guy and put on some weight. He will be fine but as a fellow poster said this shows this is KJ'S team going forward

Watching some of the highlights refs missed so many holding calls against A&M.
Pushing hog players and qb when already out of bounds and a A&M lineman had a face mask on a defensive back even the commentator mentioned it! Alot of missed calls! One thing I didn't see in this game on Arkansas side was targeting which is excellent!

I think people were quick to judge Malik after this but he did what was needed and nearly scored if kern catches that ball. I feel confident knowing that if he is able to get more comfortable we have a reliable 2nd option. Most of the mistakes made while he was in the game were due to a lack of connection between him and the line

Malik did what was asked of him. A&M's defense woke up in the 2nd half so he was legit thrown into the fire. He didn't turnover and he worked off good bits of time. I'm satisfied!

I've been re watching these highlights and that interception at 7:23 is so crazy. Calzada throws the ball, it's a spiral until it hits the o-lineman's head, then it goes wild. Pool jumps in the air with all his might and tips it. At that point the ball transforms from a rogue ball into a sideways spiral, generating just enough lift for Brown to fully extend his body, pick it inches from the ground, and control it to complete the INT. You could do a 20 minute video on that INT just by explaining the physics of the ball and the players.
I'm calling a 1 point upset of Georgia next week! Arkansas will be ranked #1 after next week.

I’ll be honest: I was a little worried after the Rice game but especially that first half. KJ was overthrowing slants and other easy throws, but seeing the kind of accuracy on the first touchdown and the ball placement on the pass at 4:40 is night and day difference, and that kind of play has been consistent since Week 2. I think it’s safe to say that kind of QB play we saw against Rice was not characteristic of KJ at all.

But mostly I believed he could do the same thing for Arkansas that Kirby Smart did for Georgia. I pulled some strings!!! I'm telling you he was not Arkansas first choice!!!! Or second or third. They thought he would flop at Arkansas similar to the way Matt Luke didn't get it done at ole miss. Even though he laid a foundation. It took a bunch of convincing and a ton of pushing.
