Rengokus dad was like that because his wife died due to illness, then he realized he lost his son aswell, he was just grieving

Yeah, it was really interesting, because he was already feeling like a failure due to his own perceived shortcomings and THEN his wife died on top of that, so it was like a double whammy. And THEN Kyōjurō dies and it's a triple whammy. I'm glad to see he's getting his shit together, though. I can't wait to see him again in the future! He's one of my favorite characters.
