It is ok to pitch China in ASEAN but we all know ASEAN countries have their own ties with China, its all about who gets who, so i think instead of ASEAN we should focus more on joining and creating security ties with Japan, Australia, SKorea and US to start create the Asian NATO, a security Alliance that will secure not just our nation but our region. other ASEAN countries dont care because it is not them who China harass, not yet! so if PH will have defense alliance i am sure China will back down and turn to other ASEAN countries that they can bully!
