Teoh on Tech, hey man have seen the ETA PRIME video on a 27in monitor with touch screen and pen support called 27p1u pro? You should try to get a review sample I'm very interested in the pen capabilities of the monitor specially considering it is $999
I like AOHi as a company and own one or two chargers from them. They build quality products, but this cable is not practical and certainly not worth the cost. Not making it at least USB4 seems like a letdown. All of those connection points are just a problem waiting to happen. Power cables should have as few junction points as possible to minimize noise and loss, not to mention wear and tear.
seems pretentious. For every connection, it loses efficiency. For additional length, it loses efficiency. I can imagine that the cable has lower efficiency than any regular cable. The metal connection definititely adds weight when you are charging, you will feel it. It offers no convenient at all even when you have devices with lightning and USB-C since you must get the proper cable, anyway. It is an art piece with art piece price. If you need 1 cable to charge lightning and USB-C device, you better find magnetic head cable. Served me well but based on my last 2 cables, magnetic head cables have short lifetime, always break less than 1 year.
I own one and it’s pretty convenient since it’s modular. It’s catered to a specific audience and I can see why it will not suit some although the lack of USB4 is a bummer. I don’t use it to transfer files, only charging. Would have really been great to have it. I travel with the cables. When I’m out I use the 10cm cable which is great for charging with a power bank without messy cables. The straight extension cable is handy when I would like a longer length such as when my power bank is in my backpack. I use the coiled cable when I’m at my accommodation and the outlet might not always be located near me and I am able to link all 3 cables to a length whereby it can reach my charging station (Anker MagSafe Cube) and charge all my devices. I use the iPhone 15 Pro Max while my wife uses an iPhone 13. The ability to change between cables and length is handy. I’d say Aohi knows their target audience and they’d definitely pay for it. I’d hope for usb4 to be added in the future.
