Thank you. Didn't even occur to me that those darn weights would be held in place with nuts that had keepers on them. I spent yesterday afternoon trying to loosen those nuts. I will pull the gear off while I am at it just to make it easy. I appreciate your time.

Really appreciate this video. We have a 1959 D14, and a 1955 WD45 Diesel. Looking forward to more content

Thanks for the in depth video. I've never went past replacing the points.

That set screw for the bushing, is that drilled through to the shaft? I was told during spring maintenance, take out that screw and shoot some oil or grease in there for the distributor shaft.

Michael, on this one that is not drilled into the shaft. It makes complete sense to be however, I'm going to look at my other distributors to see if they are. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. On the top where you rotor sets, that is hollow with a wicking material in that hole that allows you to put some oil in there when you replace the points so it stays lubed up. The first I ever heard of that when doing this project and reading the manual.

@@nashsummers8050 Now that I think about it, I was told about it in regards to an Farmall Super A which the distributor is mounted horizontal. I even seen one late Super A with a zerk instead of the set screw. I need to check my Wd-45. I'm probably pushing grease into a blind hole. LOL

will you be putting non-electrical grease on the shoe of the points that runs on the cam lobes of the distrib shaft, that open the points ?

Hey Don, thanks for watching once again, yeah this video ended up a little on the longer side, probably should have split it into a couple video's. Yes you leave that small roll pin in and cut off the excess that's sticking out on either end. Will chat soon!

Nice video! Interesting that the new bushing didn’t seem to fit. Was the tip of the shaft mushroomed out a little?

Hey, not sure why it didn't want to fit. The shaft wasn't mushroomed and the manual didn't mention about the need to hone it out to fit.
