God I love these guys. I had so many in my family. I was honored to be raised by this generation So many family reunions and so many combat veterans, POWs, and just plain Dog Faces who went through all this and very rarely spoke about it.
Thank you for your service. I was also a part of the 3rd Infantry Division...from 1973-1976. No combat, just war games, still there’s a little pride from being part of such a distinguished, decorated unit.
My brother was in the 3rd ID I belive the 63rd armor at the same time as you
@@garypic4083 That’s great to hear. We trained along with an Armored unit a lot while I was there. I was a medic and was covering the firing range for the M60 tanks one day. I’d never heard tanks fire before and when they started, the concussion rocked the vehicle we were in . I hope your brother is doing doing well.

Completely baffles me that there are people (had to restrain myself a bit here) downvoting this video.
It’s the grandchildren of the soldiers that these bad asses smoked
@Mike Harris feel sorry for you
The thumbs down guys are sad people who have no life, no purpose, they're lost souls. They resent guys like this who had the BARs
trolls
They all voted for biden
Thank you sir for your service the greatest generation. I was proud to have served in the 3 rd Infantry Division 96-99.
Both my grandfathers served in WWII. One was a 82nd Airborne Paratrooper the other was a MP under Patton in the 3rd Army. If alive today they'd be very pissed to see this country when most their friends died preserving it.
My Great Uncle Wayne was in the Airborne also. He jumped behind enemy lines in Normandy. I think he jumped out of a glider, if I recall correctly. His son was a Marine in Beirut when they bombed the barracks. I believe some of the AA were the first to reach some of the concentration camps. God bless them,I don't think I could deal with that image of horror.
Audie Murphy was a great hero and warrior. Man times have changed so much." Mr. Lincoln I wish you were here" Things have changed alot in a 100 years " " Things aren't working out just like you planned" "Mr. Lincoln we sure could use a hand."
God bless you sir for your service and keeping us free. Thank you telling your story... you won't be forgotten.
Thank you for your Service good Sir..
It makes me miss my Dad so much, being the youngest in my family I used to ask my Dad endless questions about his WWII experiences, be would tell me stories, I would hang on every word with more endless questions.
After he passed away I was told that I was the only one to ask him of his time in the War, and it was the only time he ever talked about it.. Truly the Greatest Generation... Miss you Dad.
Thank you for what you did. I appreciate your service.
Thank you for your service your a great man!
Full Respect to you Sir !
God bless this man, and so many others who fought and died for this country.
Thanks for watching this video. I would appreciate it if you would consider subscribing if you have not already done so! We are aiming to hit 45,000 subscribers this week in order to have more people watch these incredible stories! GOD BLESS THE WWII veterans!
Carlos T. Rowe served and was a freind of Audie's. Carlos was a freind of mine. This generation we owe so much.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
God bless you sir and thank you and all my fellow Veterans for your service
my dad would never talk about ww11 I think about it a lot but I don't think I ever ask him about. I just remember one think he said they came across this small creek and they all drank and filled there canteens .they walk up the stream and there wad a dead German and a mule all rotten in the water .he never said if they got sick or not
You can picture in your mind the journey , never to be forgotten by those who listen
Bless him. He and all those old soldiers airmen navy. And so on are true heroes.
Thank you sir for service that allows me to have the freedoms of today as well as the other U.S.A. Military personnel that have fought and preserved our way of life. My Father served in Korea war in combat but he only spoke briefly to my brother and I about his military service other than saying that he made up his mind going over on the ship he was going to do his job the best of his ability so he could come home. My father said two things on how brutal it was and the children who suffered! Short statement that my Dad’s eyes got glassed!
My father served in Korea and Vietnam. He had issues due to his time in war. I have other family members who served too... Vietnam era and peace between Vietnam and the middle east.
Thank you sir for the incredible sacrifice you made for future generations, I appreciate it very much. As far as the thumbs down, there are ignorant people that do it for the sheer joy of knowing they’re getting a rise out of some people, just best to ignore them.
Thank God for our Military!!!
Thank you for your service. My father was in phillipines in qorld war ll.
I am humbled Sir. Thank you for all you did.
Bless his heart and Soul Salute Sir
SPENT AN AFTERNOON AT ARLINGTON ....WENT TO SEE AUDIE S GRAVE....SAT DOWN AND HAD LUNCH WITH MY FAVORITE ACTOR AND REAL WAR HERO....I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT SUNNY AFTERNOON...
My Dad was in the army during WW11. He was a demolition expert. He armed and disarmed bombs. As a child I didn't know how dangerous that was.
Thank you sir for your service.
I have a hard time remembering things. Its like patches of memory are gone.
Earl, funny thing is I remember the names of those crew mates that died but very few of those that survived! I can remember the face of those that worked the mess hall but not the face of those that crewed other planes that I ate with. Maybe some things we don’t think is important enough to remember.
We were only men who became soldiers. I wonder how many will be remembered. I hold my hand in constant salute to these great men and women and will not lower it until we are called home. Former Army Medic here.
I cannot believe anybody would give this a thumbs down. Lot of freedom haters out there.
Democrats?
@@Psychiatrick, no need for a question mark...
@@billbartley3007 LOL ...you ARE correct ... how ignorant of me ... sorry to those vets I have offended ... Thanks!
@@Psychiatrick Really? Are you so stupid that you don't think any vets are democrats? I guess it is ok to completely ignore the constitution as long as you do it to keep your guy in power. By the way, Vladimir says 'thanks' for trying to keep Unca Donald in power no matter how it is done. Wake up, idiots.
... yep. Soon enough, things's gonna get real Awrey Murky...
Thank you so much for your service God bless you
Thanks for watching! Please consider subscribing for more WWII veteran interviews!
About how my dad sounded when he talked about the war.
My grandpa to but he would also show me pictures he took which was pretty cool
Exactly. My dad was also an infantry soldier in France.
18 years old doing all that. Tough as nails, just doing what had to be done. Definitely the Greatest Generation.
I hope you wrote all the events and published it. Or it will be lost forever.
Tired Wore smooth out. What a bunch of men they were. God Bless them all
Thank You Sir For Your Services and Sacrifices and to all Our Veterans For their Services and Sacrifices Amen USA
My father was with the 10th field artillary 3d infantry, He fought with them through North Africa, Sicily, and Italy, James Arness was also with the 3rd.
what he said about Murphy?
Arness would often 'grin and bear it' while walking with a limp while filming of countless Gunsmoke scenes.
My uncle James was in the third division from North Africa to the Anzio campaign where he like many others was badly wounded. James Arness TV’s Matt Dillon was also in the third division and wounded at Anzio.
I think everything this guy says is greatly understated. My father was also in the 3rd Infantry Division.
Reminds me of my grandfather’s stories! 737 tank battalion

Reminds me of some of my Dad's battles as a tanker. 759 Tank Battalion 4th Cav. Group 3rd Armored Division SPEARHEAD
Thank you so much 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸for interviewing this Veteran 🇺🇸
My father was a couple of companies over from Audie. Served from Africa to Germany.
What company? My Dad was in K CO.. Of the 15th. Same Path too.👍
I'm a boomer. I regret not asking the WWII vets about their experience.
Back then we were told not to ask. It was too horrendous for them to recall.
One Christmas my uncle's father told everyone about his friend in the armored car in front of him who was blown up in Crete or Italy. He felt lucky but also confused it wasn't him. We wanted to hear more, we knew the stories would be lost, but it hurt him. So it was exactly as you say.
Thank you. My father also was in war ll.
plain o hi joe thanks for your service god bless u sir
Sounds like he was in my Dads unit...same time line and places
I love how casual and matter of fact he is.
The guy survives combat against the Germans, only to get crabs at the end of the war! I love how he’s just “Yeah. We got crabs all over us.” Like he’s telling you what he had for breakfast that morning! This guy is great.
It's my wish that god will co ntinue to bless you my brother.
Thank you for your service!
