I enjoyed the discussion. Zenith and Tag Heuer caught my eye. The new CEO and ex-Cartier designer are having an impact at LVMH right away.
Roman giving a shoutout to Hublot must mean he is separating from Nico Leonard.
Interesting that Patek is doing three things at the same time:
1. Discontinuing certain Nautilus and Aquanaut models for the second year in a row.
2. Patek opened a new factory when COVID hit, so they need to boost production to pay for it. Speculation is Patek will make more Nautilus and Aquanaut models.
3. Patek had bought 8 times more gold than it did in 2023. Speculation says the gold will go towards the Nautilus and Aquanaut models.
Stay tuned until April when Patek will enlighten us all on their launch plans!

Is that new Piaget worth twice the price of a Rolex Gold day date is the question! I think not. Totally ridiculous to charge that amount on a watch you are re releasing. I think they probably thought about the VC 222 when they priced it and thought they could do the same

Here's what I think, in the order that was presented.
Zenith- No
H 0:09 ublot- The MP 10 is packed full of tech, the Big Bang Unico Saxem, wow beautiful green crystal and strap. The colab with Orlinski was fantastic, very good looking watches. To those Hublot haters out there Hublot has two words for you...."bite me".
Tag Heuer- No way
Bvlgari- Yes, beautiful Genta designed, timeless.
Patek- We just have to wait and see what they decide to discontinue. They will however turn out precious metals first and get as much return as possible before releasing stainless steel models.
Piaget- Hell no, just a money grab.

The thing is piaget knows that some idiots out there in watch stupid land will pay that stupid price for a £500 watch.
A Piaget for $80,000 is insane, but with an ETA movement it is certainly DOA. Goes to show you that long established brands think we are stupid. Roman did a great job warning us.

Hublot depend on out sourcing for movement’s. A vast majority are Saleta. Hublot is high priced for what you get. You can get a Longenes with same movement for a third of the price. I feel Hublot is basically a jewelry manufacturer that puts pats together. No value here.
