As a fellow pond owner who has major muck issues I can tell you one of the best things you can do is aerate. Don't know what your budget may be, but a small solar aeration system would go a long way towards keeping the muck under control. When your pond is in the woods (like mine) you will always be fighting the leaves accumulating every fall. I used an herbicide called Clipper which completely eliminated the water meal (similar to duckweed) that covered my pond with no detrimental effects to the pond life. Best of luck cleaning up your muck mess!

Thanks for the insight!!! I appreciate it! I am looking into a small solar aerator! This winter, I've done some reading, and it seems like the best option!

    The muck away does work
We’ve used it for a few years. Taking weeds out with a cable and harrow - pulling it with the tractor- is allot of work on a 1/2 acre pond. A pond is more work than a swimming pool but if you don’t keep up on it you’ll eventually have a swamp

Yea, the muck away has helped so much with our water clarity! I've noticed walking in it, there is less muck as well! I am working on another video to show the update!. Addressing the excess pond weeds will be our next steps in rejuvenating our pond

Just spent all weekend pumping all the water out of my pond, a third acre pond, having it excavated out, the excavator won’t reach all way to middle tho so was considering trying this , it’s been a year since you made video, has it made a difference?

How large is your pond. Regarding muck, i think you have to dredge it, or mechanically remove it. The chemicals will never remove that much. Regarding the duckweed. You can spray it, but it is extremely hard to get it and it just keeps multiplying. We bought 150 gold fish feeders from the pet store. We put them in in summer and next year when the duckweed started popping up the fish kept it in control. They love to eat it. Not grass carp, gold fish. Koi live it too but dont get any. Your going to need to plant pond plants to take up all the nutrients you have, and koi love to destroy pond plants. If you dont, when the duckweed is gone, your going to have algae like crazy cuz the nutrients wont be going to the duckweed anymore. Good luck, its a great learning experience. If your concerned about goldfish multiplying like crazy, when you add Bass they will knock diwn their numbers. Good luck

Size wise , I still need to get a good measurement, but I'd say it is roughly 50-foot by 40-foot. It isn't very large at all. I am thinking of getting fish next spring, I wanted some time to decide what kind would be best, along with figuring out a good vendor. Since our pond is pretty small, I don't think it can hold to many fish. Thanks for the insight on the gold fish!

    You’re cute!❤
Isn’t it just easier to take the muck out of the pond? There are special pumps for that. Or just by digging it out.

We could dredge our pond, but the cost would be crazy! And for where our pond is, it is very hard to get to currently

I am throwing in Muck Away tablets. They introduce a beneficial bacteria to reduce the amount of muck in our pond
