    I am so super impressed with your knowledge of nutrition and herbal tinctures and salves. Your children really do have the very best parents to set them all up well for life. I know you said you don’t film the cranky times the kids have etc and that life is not perfect but truly if there were more parents with your values, morals and energy and faith, I can only imagine how beautifully different the world would be.
    You are absolutely correct about the issue for alot of people with oxalates. I suffered from IBS for years and went on to develop diabetes. Totally changed my diet over 4 years ago - firstly to low carb, then keto, then carnivore which was fantastic for my healing. I now do what I would call Ketovore. I used to eat alot of spinach and other greens believing it was healthy for me…but that was what was causing terrible cramping and IBS. With the way I eat now I have no IBS, no diabetes, perfect blood pressure and healthy weight. I’m 63 and wish I knew about this years ago. Thankyou for sharing your knowledge and research. Great thrift haul too! Love how the children have so much fun thrifting. Lydia is such a character! She makes me laugh. You have such a lovely family…well done to you and Jason. ❤

  • @robynclarke5274
    @robynclarke5274 Год назад

    You can cut back on oxcelates by blanching the spinach. I grow malabar spinach and native spinach (indigenous name in Australia is warigal, or New Zealand spinach in other countries) both require blanch them for 3-5 minutes and rinse thoroughly in cold water before eating. This reduces their bitterness). It's worth the google search.

    We love Azure pizza seasoning. We haven't tried it on eggs. You can use that molasses to make brown sugar. We dont buy premade brown sugar anymore.
    I did a quick look about oxalates. I need to look into it some more. It could explain some of my lengthy health issues.
    Thank you for sharing what you're buying. We are doing a Sam's run soon. We will be in Chesterfield tomorrow, but I'm not sure if we will stop at S. County on the way home or not. Azure pickup is Thursday morning for us. I love going through our boxes when we get them.
    God bless y'all! ❤️

      @@jasonandjulieI heard about that salt from other organic type homesteaders and I ordered mine off Amazon. It’s ancient sea salt mined in Utah! We love it.

      @@jasonandjulie You find affiliates through other YT homesteaders and they most generally have a 10% or 15% coupon code. I ordered a 10lb bag with bucket. I did some background checking on all these different kinds of salts, where they come from, the whole factory process and Redmond's is so far the cleanest, most untouched salt. Basically gets mined and straight to packaging. AND best yet, it's right here in Utah. They also have a lot of other healthy products they sell.

    Great video!! Love when new videos post! 😀 I just learned about oxalates and balancing calcium and oxalates because I had a kidney stone a couple months ago. The worst!!! Unfortunately they do not think my diet had anything to do with it but I wonder....🤔. I tend to go overboard researching and then think I cannot eat anything because everything affects you some way or another. I guess nothing in excess is good to practice. Never know for sure, it is so overwhelming sifting through all the info out there and trying to apply it. Have a great day!!

    Let me first say, I think it’s great how “clean” you eat! But serous question, when you leave the raw milk out to get curds and whey, etc, does it not taste bad? I also watch Our Tribe of Many and they do this too? Is it a taste you have to acquire or does it taste like pasteurized? Just curious, not judging.

I wondered if you could possibly make a video talking about how you use the salves, and different oils with the dried herbs, colloidal silver, etc.… I remember you saying you used your comfrey on your injured knee, but as far as the plantain and other things. Thanks so much!

    • @jasonandjulie
      @jasonandjulie  Год назад +1

      Our oldest child is very sensitive to gluten. She gets bad stomach issues, although she does not have full celiac. However, I have found that no one in the family feels good when eating gluten, unless it has been fermented as sourdough. So for overall health we just stay away from conventional wheat most of the time.

    • @jasonandjulie

      I’ll try to remember to bring my camera along next month! 💗
      You can place an order at any time, and then continue to add to that order until your cutoff date/time. They have the option for you to receive both email and text updates so those help me remember!
      You show up at your appointed pick up place (parking lot usually) and the truck will be there. Everyone helps unload and you take your boxes home. It’s actually fun to go each month. You start to make friends with the people in the group and it’s like a little social gathering 🙂

    have you heard about the vinegar thing going on some of them dont have the right amount of acid for pickling here is what i have seen
    Just a little warning for all who are canning pickles or anything using vinegar. This year you cannot just grab a plastic jar of vinegar or even pickling vinegar without checking the label. Safe pickling requires 5% acidity....for the first time we are seeing 4% acidity vinegar... on the shelves. That renders anything pickled in the 4% NOT shelf stable. I belong to several canning FB pages where everyone is warning ...for the first time ever...to check those labels or you could be throwing out many jars of unsafe pickled veggies
    hope this helps hugsssssss
