Groove......did you really have to bring back the NOSTALGIA with the background? Man, you are masterfully skilled beyond belief. Motion pictures and music, you are to be admired. Even animated a-ha.....yeah, YOU are too much! 😊 Absolutely perfect remix. SUPERB! 👏👏👏👏🤗
LOVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You to me are by faaaaaaar the best DJ who reconstructs classics. Your creativity exudes how to re empower the soul of each song. Wish you posted one song per week. I want to have ALL your collection in optimal quality. Is that possible?? Kudos from Uruguay 🇺🇾
One of my all time favorite classics from the 80’s! Love the reconstruct and how you were able to extend it also! Yeah, you had a bit of a brain fart with a-ha’s origin, it is Norway, not Sweden but it happens to the best of us. And if I’m not mistaken, the video, which was huge on MTV, was one of the most expensive to produce, with the combination of reality and animation! Imagine what can be done today with AI! Awesome work GROOVEFUNKEL! You are a multitracks wizard and thank you for sharing sir! 🎶💃🏻🪩🕺🏻🎶
I so needed something like this today. When you’re having a bad time & something like this drops from the master mixer that is Groovefunkel it’s a sign from the universe that things will get better. Keep up the great work. Already looking forward to the next one.
@@groovefunkel Thanks for the response. I understand this is a passion for you (I think) and keep on...keeping on. Love your work. I hope you don't mind further suggestions. I just love old school funk, R&B, Disco, Soul...from the late 60s to early 80s. All the best.
This is such a fantastic mix, great job! It'd be so cool if you could mix Even Though You're Gone by the Jacksons, it's such a beautiful song in my opinion.
I like how your remix closely matches the original. What effects did you use to get the bass sound (any free plugins for them would be great)? I noticed it was different than the dry patch from the DX7 and I've been trying to find out but never achieved it. Do you mind sharing the dry version of the lead vocal from this mix and the percussion part? Sorry if this is long, I'm trying to deconstruct and recreate the song.
Fan de ton travail, es-tu capables de remixer le plus gros tubes de Sandra Lauer.. Merci pour ta réponse. Bien sur je manquerai pas de la diffuser! ;-)
Hello Groovefunkel. I am always astonished about how wonderfull and different your mixes are. I read something about you using the session tapes. Can you explain more if possible. Are these the tapes from the recording studio ? Are you a producer yourself ? Regards Erwin
Erwin...when I refer to "session tapes" I am referring to the original recording tracks, also referred to as multitracks. These are the individually recorded tracks (ie...vocals, guitars, piano, snare drum, kick drum etc...) that are mixed when the recording producer/engineer designs the sound/production. These tapes (as all things recorded pre-90's) were the only recording medium used. Now, it is mostly digital. These tapes are transferred to digital, which is what I use to create (most of) my mixes. The session tracks, as received (raw/dry) then need mixed to get a proper sound. Yes, these come from the recording studios. Hope this helps! G
They have a slow version of this song which I also actually like, great remix you did on this song like you do on all of these. Hopefully down the road, you can do Smooth Criminal and Stranger In Moscow by Michael Jackson. Keep up the great work.

You are without a doubt, The Remix Master!!! I don't think you could do a bad remix if you tried... But A-Ha is a Norwegian band not swedish
Damn, great catch!

Be cool if you can remix the slow version of this song.

They’re not Swedish. They’re Norwegian. And you spelled the keyboard players name wrong.
Glad you liked the remix. 😆🤣😆🤣 No, in all seriousness, I realized the Norwegian mistake but I did not realize I had another typo. My OCD hates this.
