- Опубликовано: 20 янв 2025
- In this episode of Cultural Kitchen, we’re diving into traditional Zimbabwean cuisine with a delicious combo of Gango and Sadza. Gango is a flavorful mix of meats and veggies, while Sadza is Zimbabwe’s staple dish-a maize meal porridge that pairs perfectly with any meal.
Join me as I walk you through the cooking process, share tips passed down from my mom, and talk about the cultural significance of food in Zimbabwean gatherings. I’ll also share personal stories and memories from growing up in Zimbabwe, where food was always a way to bring family and friends together.
If you love learning about different cultures through food, this is the perfect episode for you! Let me know in the comments if any of these traditions are similar to yours, and don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more culinary adventures!

I am so proud of the way you have presented our culture, values and food. A sneak peak into a Zimbabwean kitchen. Quality production. Keep it up sis and represent us well.
Thank you so much!
I’m trying this out today❤ from SA
I have always wished to try or even taste Gango🤤 thank you Queen for this,it looks appetising ,Siyabonga 😍
Amazing video! Quick tip: Avoid using plastic cutting boards as they can release microplastics into your food every time you cut. Opt for wood or bamboo instead. You will be surprised to see how much plastic goes into your food when you cut using that board.
What a lovely video. Well done. Proud to be Zimbo. Very clear. Video and instructions are on point. I’m a Zimbo and have never heard of this gango but I’m going to try making it.
well, now i am hungry! This was nicely done. We cook sadza the same way in Malawi, and we call it Nsima. It is served with meat/fish/chicken and green vegetables, like in your video. The culture is also the same, food brings people together and in some instances, sadza is eaten in a shared plate. We definitely serve the elders first as well. Aaaaand food changes with the season too here, I guess we are pretty much the same.
Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s amazing how similar our food traditions are. I love that Nsima and Sadza are enjoyed in such a similar way across cultures, and the practice of serving elders first is such a beautiful part of the meal. Food truly does bring people together, no matter where we’re from. 😊 What’s your favorite seasonal dish to enjoy with Nsima?
Amazing my sister you have explained exactly how we prepare and serve our meals as Zimbabwean people. You are well talented my sister . You make us proud of our culture as Zimbabwean people. We want persons like you who speak proudly about our culture. We say this is wonderful. *********
@@NormanChikoto thank you so much
Thank you for this Suzie, loving the Zimbabwean cuisine, it looks yummy and please keep videos rolling👌🏼
Here for the first time and I must say you nailed it, I had gango on my last visit to Zimbabwe at HotPlate Harare International Airport 😊
looks amazing. Zim culture is pretty much the same as in Zambia. Do you add groundnut powder/peanut butter to some of your veg? would love to see your recipe soon👍🏽
We sashila with peanut butter not groundnut powder
@@chippo2522 ohh ok, we do that too but depends on the relish/veg. some people like to sashila game meat with peanut butter as opposed to groundnut powder, same for certain types of mushroom😅
Thank you so much! Yes, we use peanut butter in dishes like muboora. Stay tuned for more recipes soon!
We don’t have ground nut powder.. but our food is almost similar
Yes in Zim we can add groundnut poweder in veggies like rape , tsunga or pumpkin leaves muboora.
Love this Zim culture tutorial. Love the cooking.
Good filming too.
I have subscribed. Just to support one of our own. Go my sister go.
I'll try this sometime soon, looks interesting, totally different cuisine as we don't mix different types of meat in the same pot in our country. But I'll maybe alternate pork with lamb as I don't eat pork.
When i saw sadza, i just subscribed!!!
I lyke it when u mx meat and vegetables das ma favourite even mai boyfriend nw hez lovng it nyc one mai cster👌😘
