And instead of coloring the dried putty add color in wet putty amd Apple n give it the texture of table while applying putty that’s professional n appealing

I have been making these for lomg and that gives a very rough table look if you follow my tips , you need to leave patterns and don’t smooth them down completely I hope you got me

It would look more natural if you leave little imperfection on it , and the longer line those are formed as a result of applying putty but you removed all of those

Can this be used as a sweep?

Donna Babylon not sure what a sweep is.

A sweep is a seamless backdrop. For example, attach a flexible board (such as poster board) to the wall and allow it to curve as it meets the surface. It is a way of creating a backdrop without a horizontal line. Hope this explains.

What other surface you can use this technique that would be lighter in weight to use than wood? Would foam board be too flimsy?

I'm not sure if foam board would work. But this could work on sheetrock, plywood, and the metal sheets like in the tutorial. They do make mud for this that is light, you could try using that on foam core and test it out.

Don't use foam core, it will warp badly. I find thin MDF board, Luan plywood, Masonite or cheap paneling works best.

    Nice thank you.
If I use coating for wall as the first layer it works ?
And Do you know how to create this kind of texture ? maybe they just use a sponge, but it's not like dot but holes.
