- In this video, we are not only going to find out what the Original Salzburg Mozart chocolate (Mozartkugel) is, but we are also going to taste ten different Mozart chocolate balls to find out which one is best.
It's common knowledge that the original Mozart chocolate is blue and silver. But did you know that there are many chocolate producers in Salzburg that wrap their chocolate balls in blue and silver foil to make you think their chocolate is original?
And the more popular Mozart chocolate balls are red and gold. What about those? Well, the biggest producer of Mozart chocolate is not even from Austria.
You see there is a whole controversy going on about the topic. Several lawsuits were fought and there are rules for the use of the word original and the combination of the words Salzburg, Mozart, and Chocolate.
How much is the chocolate and what are the ingredients? Where can you buy the original Mozart balls and are they worth it? What's the price?

Thank you. I am glad you liked the video. There are so many different brands 😄 I didn't know there are blue cover ones in Vienna. The original Fürst you can only get in Salzburg because you can only get them at their shops. But yours probably was very similar if the inside looks the same. Next time in Vienna I will look out for them. I also love them. Really delicious.

Liebe Britta, entschuldige die späte Antwort. Ich mache keine Videos mehr auf diesem Kanal, weil wir mit dem Koreanisch so beschäftigt sind. Ich freue mich, dass dir das Video gefallen hat. Bei den Fürst Mozartkugeln muss ich mich auch immer zurückhalten 😄 sie schmecken wirklich gut. Ich hoffe wir sehen uns irgendwann mal in Salzburg.

Hello Nicolette, I don't think you can order them from the USA, unfortunately. Schatz only came up with an online shop in 2020. I just checked it. The site is only in German and it seems like they only ship to a handful of countries in Europe. Habakuk might even more difficult. They don't even have a website as far as I know. Both of these places are real traditional Austrian coffee and pastry places and, therefore, still a bit old fashioned. I hope you can visit Salzburg someday to try all the different Mozart chocolates 😊
