What a fab band these guys brought to us ,,,,,there harmonies were something else ,,Long live the 60s era What a decade to live in , never to be repeated lol to all the 60s fans ,,, We were there xx
Unglaublich aber wahr. Habe genau diesen Konzertabschluß in Lengede (Grube) gehört und gesehen, einfach klasse, diese Jungs konnten noch richtig gut LIVE singen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a 1960's song and it was an excellent song that was not about Vietnam or protest. I loved the original. It came out and it did well. I was real fan of this song.
I'm OBE (Over Bloody Eighty) & been told I'm living on borrowed time. I have requested THIS song be played at my wake. I SO wish I'd seen these lads live back in the day. I did see The Shadows live & these lads are EVERY bit as good..!!!👍👍👍👍👍
I love the Tremelose. Silence Is Golden was one of my favorite songs growing up about the time I was in junior high school. This brings back so many memories.
@@adamgh0 You may well be right. They seem to be singing acapella pretty much until about 0:48, and Rick Westwood doesn't start playing whatever that instrument he is holding, until about 1:03. Well spotted.👍
I loved to slow dance to this song back in the day. The best music was in the 60's & early 70's but disco & metal messed the up music and it has never been the same. Us baby boomers had the best music the world has ever had.
@ 0:21, Rick tossed something to an audience member. This happened to me at a Shadows concert, MANY,many years ago when Bruce Welch tossed his finger pick to us & I caught it. Still have it... Rick seemed such a really nice bloke. 🤩Such a shame about his loss of hearing...I remember him in my prayers 🙏
This is a great song. I found out some years ago, this was originally to be a Four Seasons song, written by Robert Gaudio and Bob Crewe the song writing duo that created most of the Four Seasons music. No matter who sings it, it has always been one of.my all time favorites since 1968.
@mears89 I did not know that. Makes sense though, Crewe and Gaudio wrote some wonderful songs. There also was the Walker Brothers hit "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" This also was recorded by the Seasons but was never a hit for them.
There was another song with the same title at the same time .Very different but just as good .Any one remember ? words went...silence silence is golden ...all I need to do is hold you..hold you and kiss you...for ever more girl forever more ....
Luckily saw them live in a cellar-pub in the 80'ties in my hometown in Germany !! They were brilliant+played on+on,as the crowd yelled for more!! Will always remember this gig: great songs+musicians, huge hits, everyone could sing along+the Tremeloes have been very sympathical+were rather "normal" guys !! Later Ive checked the band members from the records I still have+they have been rather in original line-up !! will never forget this gig, because I've had a real terrible hang-over from the night before+I could hardly drink a beer+my head ached, but The Tremeloes blew these troubles away !! It was a real great time,I will never forget !!! Thanx for sharing !!
Great stuff! Their fatal flaw though was that they didn't write their own songs and could not keep the hits coming.Terrific musicians and vocalists though!
Es el grupo que la DECCA eligió en vez de "THE Beatles", ellos interpretaron "Yellow River" y solo el vocalista Jeff Christy puso su voz, existen dos versiones, una con la voz de The Temeloes.
No British POP band had better singers or better harmony. Larry Wax, you're right; IF they'd written their own songs, they'd have been soooo much more well known. If you haven't heard the new (started performing about 10 years ago) British pop group, The Overtones, check out the group. I think you're in for a treat.
Was it lip syncing though, for it was an acapella version? Didn't the original have various instruments?Interesting that it was from 1988. I remember Solid Gold shows from back then, and they would often feature retro act performances from the late 1960s. A sort of 20th anniversary. ... Looks like it might be New Year's Eve?
Tremeloes were great vocalists. They always had a smile and made it so much fun to watch.

Great song from a geeat band. Thank you for bringing back the good memories.
What a song! Such harmony!! So truthful!
Qué hermoso tema..!!!!!!!!!!!
Divino, Exquisito, Delicioso, Único........
No encuentro más para describirlo...
Encantador...!!!!!!!!!!!
Dieser Song wird alle Zeiten überleben.

I say this over and over, how lucky we are to have RUclips, all our tunes from all our years . Thank you RUclips.
Yes!
For me it is a kind of back to the future. Greetings fro the Netherlands.
Muito Linda essa Letra. Esse formato da música muito Linda.
one of the best ballads of that era...to often overlooked
This must have been a New Year evening years back. Beautiful harmonies..
Wow, the harmonies are beautiful. The Tremeloes deserve a lot more credit.
Agreed. A great song.
They're lip syncing to a backing track. Half of them don't even have mics he's not even playing the bass at 2:04.
@@adamgh0 I was talking about the song itself, when they recorded it in the studio. Still groups today lip sync to their videos, that's nothing new.

The original was by The Four Seasons. The song was written by Bob Gaudio and Bob Crewe.
Assisti ao show deles no clube círculo militar no Ibirapuera em 1970.
I am SO envious! Unbelievable harmonies!!!🤩🥰
Love the song this video makes it look cheap. However it still bring back great memories for me
Bob Gauidio songs are timeless.
Maravilha! Sempre é bom ouvi-la!
Tempo bom!!! Muuuuuito bom!
Great sound. Great song. 1967 summer.
Lot of truth in this song...….always a good one
Música lindíssima dos nossos belos tempos de juventude, é sempre bom e sabe muito ouvi-la. Obrigado Tremeloes.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it

Beautiful song
It's my all-time favorite. I like singing along whenever I play this song.
I would love to but I can't even come close to those high notes.
Takes me back to high school. Cheated girlfriend,..didn't believe but friends told me. My eyes never saw.
I love the Tremelose. Silence Is Golden was one of my favorite songs growing up about the time I was in junior high school. This brings back so many memories.
Pretty good. They didn't even need microphones!
A masterclass for today's so-called musicians.

@mears89 you are correct I have it on an anthology album. Yes it wasn't a hit for them.

Com certeza uma das músicas mais lindas de todos os tempos
All these years I thought this was Frankie Valli. Well, learn something every day.
Comprobado moriremos pero la buena musica prevalecera!
summer scout holiday 1967 when I was 13 on Samsø (island) in the middle of Denmark
i love this tune, and i just figured out how these guys could sing such high notes, check out the tight pants lol,
wow the Tremeloes still look awesome. what a great song are thay all still living!
SILÊNCIO E OURO. SEMPRE VOU TE AMAR! SAUDADES.
May have been lip synced, but this almost acapella version is the best ever!
+pg1171, back then, lip sync was perfectly acceptable. Milli Vanilli ruined it for everyone.
Yes, in the mid to late 80s lip syncing was in wide use... Not really so much in major concerts, but lesser venues.
After Brian Poole left, I remember him and a song called Someone, Loves You,
beautiful song and beautiful voices
that brings back memories
When you sleep silent is golden

Remember this from the Ceders club in Birmingham....way back
The artists of today show watch this group, and take notes
To have only one microphone, they did a great job! LOL!
Really well done.
Great stuff! Their fatal flaw though was that they didn't write their own songs and could not keep the hits coming.Terrific musicians and vocalists though!
And the irony is that although Chip wrote "Yellow River," he handed it off to Christie.
@@Mr5thWave - Jeff Christie wrote "Yellow River".
@@jerrybrownell3633 My bad. The Tremeloes passed on "Yellow River," then Christie recorded it over their instrumental track.
the best 60er group very best
Simpelt hen fantastisk

The year I was born on
I like when the 4seasons did this tune fellow italians
It was a Four Seasons original. One of the first songs Bob Gaudio and Bob Crewe wrote together.

i thought that drummer looked tough...he looks just like Rick Flair!!
Atombomb,WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Brilliant song but hey .... cant see a mike near most of them.
Versão Legal está.
What's the instrument Rick is holding in this?🤔
This is an original Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons song .
not live, lip sync and too much hamming around. Watch the original from 1967
Great song and sound. Thumbs up! But what is with the goofing off? Board of singing it? Sorry, this song commands a certain amount of respect.

Did they perform it first or was it a four seasons
The four seasons….
🤗👍🏻😍
Who ARE these guys ?
The background decoration on the stage looks like a middle finger.
♥️♥️😘
Par contre là, ça jure... Ils ont un style "thuggy" mais ils chantent la chanson la plus belle, mais la plus lignifiante
