“By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong, and everywhere was a song, and a celebration” 🌸 I’m so grateful that you decided to record even though you weren't feeling your best. Hope you were able to rest (happy mother's day, by the way!) and you're much better now 🩷 As I mentioned in the Space Age video, I’m most fascinated by its aesthetics, but counterculture’s values are the ones that I hold dearest to my heart. I learnt so much 🩷 thank you!

The Hippie Style is so fascinating and captivating 😍 I love Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Carlos Santana, The Beatles, The Doors and The Rolling Stones as they experimented from different cultures world-wide! I see Mexico, India, and Eastern Europe (specifically Romania) as the biggest influence of the counterculture.

When I came from Japan to the States in the early 70s, there were still hippies around. They had long hair and beards, wore only natural fabrics, and walked around barefoot. There were many stores that carried blacklight posters, marijuana paraphernalia, and peace sign pendants.

It's sad how many people conflate 60s hippie counterculture with psychedelia and 70s bohemia. The differences can be subtle but they're there. Especially hippie and psychedelia.

Ironically, it was a visit to the Haight that led George Harrison to get off LSD.

I'm a black american and i'm forty and just to think how would I have been received at that time in these circles......But I would probably have said some things I would have turned some white people off, lol. Not intentionally but.
I could imagine.I would have came from the Southern states and experienced mistreatment. And seeing my people lynched towns burned and all in the name of white dominance. And then I would have gotten around white folks like this. And it would have been a Culture shock. They would have had to forgive me because of how I seen And group to know white people.
