Very clear instructions here. I'm researching disc resurfacing machines and this video, so far, has been the best. Thanks for posting the links, as well. Subbing now 👍 And best wishes for your business success 👌🙂
Really dont miss all the steps necessary with this machine. Probably just me but could never get the discs mirror finished. Glad to see people making videos on how to get the best results.
I have a store selling media and this machine has been helping me immensely! There is a learning curve however and many techniques not covered in it's manual to get the best results.
Definitely a learning curve. Mostly due to the instructions being so bad. If you follow the instructions you will ruin the disc like 40% of the time lol
I don't see those fine swirley scratches like you get with jfj supplies. Jfj should really consult for contact new supplies because all their stuff sucks! Ty for this!
You’re welcome! Their stuff used to be better but seems the quality has taken a drastic drop sadly. But i guess since they are basically the only resurfacing machine you can buy that isn’t really low end and isn’t $1500 they can get away with it.
Yea the JFJ is good but it isn’t user friendly at all. It’s going to make you learn how to resurface a disc before you get good results. The Elm Eco machines are just press the button and you’re good. You never understand why anything happens you just get great results lol. But you pay a lot more.
@@GamingRenewedLLC I see this actually you have to do step by step but tbh I thought it was complicated but is super easy just gotta have the right products where do you buy all the pads?
Look in the description in my last video “trust the process” everything i use is linked there. Not affiliate links, just the stuff that works best for me. Also, you will need to cut the pads to size with scissors. I’m pretty sure the sure the “better pads” video is the one where i show how i cut them to size. Not hard at all
I bought mine from Amazon and it came with supplies, which included the pads, compound, and sand paper. But you can also buy just the machine itself. I’d recommend just the machine, since you will stop using JFJ’s supplies once you realize they are not good.
Great video and perfect timing for me. Question if you dont mind; I re-did NBA Showtime this weekend and got it playing but it would freeze or hiccup during gameplay. I ran it again and now it hangs up on the loading screen, do I even bother trying again? Im using water during sanding, and stock JFJ pads and solution. Also, I have an arcade disc of gran turismo 2 (disc 2) that actually doesn’t look that bad scratch wise, but will not even be recognized in my ps2 or ps3. I re-surfaced this weekend, the disc now looks almost flawless but same issue. Again, do I even bother trying again? And also as a re-seller, have you seen that before where a seemingly good condition disc just doesn’t work no matter what you try? Thanks!
So it sounds like it both scenarios you have damage to the disc most likely from it getting too hot. If the disc gets too hot it will destroy that data layer on the disc and even though the disc itself may look pristine it will not read at all, or have issues getting past a certain point where the data is damaged. If the disc is not reading or playing without issue and the back already looks great, then I would say to just write it off as the data itself being damaged, either during some point in its life before you resurfaced it, or during you resurfacing it. No point in keep running it through the machine at that point. Only exception is if the game is worth a lot of money. Then you can give it some more attempts to try and hopefully revive it.
@@GamingRenewedLLC well thats a bummer. Another question for you if I may. I also did a few ps2 discs, they seem to be more forgiving for sure but 2 of them now take longer to load through the opening credits than before, data damage again?
Hmmm i wouldn’t say data damage since it does actually load. The lasers on the PS2 can be picky at times, and when you resurface a disc you are peeling off some of the material to make it smooth again so the laser doesn’t get blurred out due to the scratches. After the resurface the laser might just be having trouble staying on track to read the data or it could be having to access other areas of the disc to get to the corrective data put on the dvd to help it play even if certain areas are damaged. Think of it as an emergency backup of extra data. How much longer is it taking?
I’ve never had any issues resurfacing ps3 or ps4 discs with it. Granted i do not use the jfj compound or pads with the machine either though. Bauer pads and Meguairs or 3D compound and polish gives great results
Bro! Water is the key! So much better with more water! I've actually rescued so many discs now that I thought were gunners. It allows you to polish longer. I had a gamecube game that kept halting and so back it went for another minute with lots of water. Each time I'd get farther into the cut scene lol until finally viola! Thanks for all these tips! Still think eco pro would be easier and less mess but the stupid key card is lame.
Happy to help! Yea water helps keep the pads from drying out and keeps the heat down. Oh Eco Pro 2 is definitely easier and way less mess, just HATE the keycard so much lol. But the ease of use and great results from the Eco Pro 2 are amazing.
Yea these are the 6” Bauer pads you have to trim down. Wish i could help but not really familiar with getting them in Canada. I also use Milwaukee pads too (in another video) maybe those might be easier to get?
And another one. Super informative, well explained, well filmed, video. I've been watching a few as I have tons and tons of games in a haul I got years ago that I need to clean/test. Many are super scratchy - GameCube to Xbox / Xbox 360 / PlayStation1-3 and Wii games [plus I already have a ton of media - blu-ray, dvd/cd that I buy for my store and would love to get those scratch free]. Using the products you used with the JFJ, and keeping the pads wet, def. seems to be key. I may be buying a JFJ soon [I will search your profile here for an affiliate link, as you clearly deserve something back for making this video!]. Thank you so much!
Had someone in the comments tell me Meguiars has fillers in it so it isn’t good for resurfacing discs. I haven’t had issues with the M205 but i use 3D products now. Maybe the M210 has more fillers?
@GamingRenewedLLC fillers... oof i assumed so, I even tested it heavily by sanding a disc down and played it fine before buffing, buffed and won't read now, haven't been able to fix it either I'm guessing it's dead dead lol
I just added the links to each for you in the description. The links are for the better versions of what i use now. Waiting for these to run out to go get the better ones. They have less sling and is made specifically for rotary and high speed applications. Like what is happening with the JFJ.

Wow that is really clean. I wish you were nearby so I can pay you to buff my copy of Batman forever. It has hairlines all over
Crazy alot of people be dissing this machine but you use it like a pro I might just buy one Im tired of taking trips to the video game store 😂

Hey did the two sanding paper come with the machine or do you have to buy it separately?

Nice video! What is your experience with blu-ray discs? I've heard that JFJ is pretty damaging to blu-rays, despite of the "Blu-ray friendly".

You can get a mod chip now for unlimited minutes ebay
Yea you can. If I ever got one, I'd have to get the mod chip
Are these the 6” pads? Having a really hard time sourcing them in Canada

had any issues with the new meguiars M210 in the tall black bottle? seems like its killing my black PS1 discs on the final buff, its weird

Might try re-sanding it and then buff with a different product. Worth a shot. Sanding might remove the filler enough to get it to read.
@@GamingRenewedLLC ill give it a shot
Any luck?
Do you know where to get the megui
res cut polish?

@@GamingRenewedLLC My Bauer pad just split in half oddly lol. I only got to use it 5 times.
That’s really odd lol. I could see maybe it started cutting into the pad but splitting in half I’ve never seen before.
