LOL too funny. I could never afford anything. I got this game for my birthday and it was so enchanted to me. I wished it were real. I had dreams about this game! Loved it! Wish they would remake it. Being a kid was awesome!
Why was I not informed that someone had made this? I would expect a letter from some musical authority alerting me of this masterful rendition. Thank you.
Faxanadu's soundtrack is criminally underrated. I think it often gets overlooked not only because Faxanadu's not really that popular of a game compared to the likes of Mario or Metroid or Zelda, but also the music programmer didn't employ many of the audio flourishes that are found in later NES music, such as tremolo and pitch bend/slide effects, or DPCM samples, or the 'faux reverb' technique that was common in later games. But listening from a raw compositional standpoint, the tracks in this game are nothing short of phenomenal and, in my personal opinion, have every right to stand just as tall as your iconic Zelda or Mega Man tunes.
This is one of the most haunting and mesmerizing game musics I've ever heard... especially for NES. That password screen is possibly the thing I remember most from the game... although I played the actual game very little. I probably haven't heard that music since 1997 or 1998, yet I still remember it - most of it, at least. There were a few extra measures in that whole piece I forgot. Just this music alone evokes thoughts of hiding out in a little room, decoding baffling secrets that nobody else can figure out, and I think that's what draws me to it... (Is it just me, or do those words on the sheet music look DISTINCTLY like "Middle-Earth" fonts?) Maybe some film director out there should do a Faxanadu movie adaptation - and at the end of the last scene, let there be dead silence... then have this haunting little melody play over and over during the credits. Heck, why not let it be the 8-bit NES tune?
Tu as accompli un travail remarquable ! J'ai un synthé et des guitares chez moi, ça fait quelques années que j'ai dans la tête une version "refaite" de toutes les chansons de faxanadu, ce jeu dont les musiques me sont restées à jamais dans ma tête !
This is brilliant. As I type this, I am making a remixing of this Faxanadu track and I happen to stumble upon this. This is gorgeous, incredible! Bravo!
Yeah, I know. Like when you have only a little life left and go into the doctor's, and he tries to rip you off with 1200G.XD But I know that feeling. I would also play it night and day. Even tho as a little kid I didn't understand anything it was still my top one and still is today!:D To be honest, I was thinking about remaking it, but I need to learn more about game making.:D
Amazing adaptation of one of the best scores in gaming history
Ah the memories. I miss that time when my biggest worry in life was that I couldn't afford a J key.:)

I was in the mood to hear an updated version of this song and this is far more amazing than anything I expected to find. Thank you!

Christopher Russell The uppercase o and zero in the password screen are terrible. Xo
Christopher Russell or how about a remake?
What a fantastic rendition of this enchanting tune. Very nostalgic, and quite faithful to the original, yet still able to add more to the experience.
Another great cover that i found more than a decade later. Good job!

This is great! Thank you for uploading it.
Faxanadu is one of the only games besides Zelda that I think I enjoy all the music to.
Amazing, so beautiful.. I was swept away.
This is just impressive.
I thought so first too - but after listening to this version it a gazillion times I now love every single aspect it has to offer ;)

I'm pretty sure they made lyrics for the theme. Sounds so much like a typical 80s/90s fantasy ending song.
This is so perfect!
Wow, gorgeous
Love it!
Wow, my mind is blown
fantastic this version
Great version!
I played the hell out this game.
This will be a great soundtrack of an utopic Faxanadu Film, make more !
