Faker knew that he had to press R on an ally before Noc R else he is dead. Same for Shen R and teleport spell, you want to channel before noc’s R. Nocturne is usually picked to counter these champions like galio/Shen/tf . It’s not easy to pull this even in a ranked game where a Shen ults before the Noc R is channeled. You will rarely see a Shen/galio ulting on a full/half Hp teammate before the nocturne R comes out and by the time it fades, your teammate is dead and you lost the team fight. You require a lot of map awareness / game knowledge and anticipation. Might look like a simple play, but hard to execute, high elo players will agree with me.
I think that's because Nocturne's ult prevents any global ults to be activated (like the Galio's one) so he has had only some milliseconds to calculate where to go and activate the Galio's before the Noc's ult really started.

For anyone who is confused about this play wondering if its actually good or not. Lets break it a down a little. Why is galio mid in the first place? If you look closely he just wants that 3rd plate. He has kalli leesin on the drake and is ahead gold. Its their drake, so he's just trying to do something else. The reason why it isn't a good play, is because you can not galio r while noct r is present. But if you notice noct ults after Faker is already ulting away. If he had simply pressed Noct r right as tf stunned him. He's just guaranteed dead. Now you might wonder okay, but then why does T1 slam them so hard then? Literally just look at ezreal. He shifts forwards, vs a naut with flash and wow does Keria capitalize. This shouldnt be faker being glorized if anyone, its keria salvaging the play. In reality though the ezreal is just running it down here. Explain to me how you're gonna win a fight when your only carry champ whos there is just insta one shot without using flash.

this is the reason people shit on caster cadrel showed and felt how important that ult was 1 sec later and noc turns off the lights faker dies and they get dragon. the caster glosses over it like no big deal. but that play had the most impact in that game.
His one ult play cost DK 2 ults used 2 DK members killed 2 DK flashes used and a dragon with max exp gain because of contest radius. If he doesn't ult there he dies mid best case scenario t1 loses mid but gets drag worst case scenario dk 5v4 whipes T1 and gets drag or tower. Hope that helps, you can't look at it at face value

Yeah that’s kind of the point, this was the only option to live, but the reason it was a bait is because Faker should and definitely was aware that they had kill pressure on him there in mid, BEFORE he stepped up there. He drew DK to the mid lane while dragon was up and then made nocturne waste ult. The rest of DK was scattered and not in position to contest resulting in T1 getting drag and wiping them. This being the only solution doesn’t make it less impressive, it makes it more impressive that he can see the one possibility left to succeed.

I don't know if this constitutes genius or smart level of play since every Galio player will instantly ult to a team during Dragon instead of going at someone 1 v 1. It was lucky that Noct ulted right after, but Faker waited for TF to blow all his cc and immediately ulted out. I think that this is because he was well aware nocturne was probably about to ult. So yeah there was some luck in there but he definitely was very aware and did exactly as he intended to initially

For anyone who is confused about this play wondering if its actually good or not. Lets break it a down a little. Why is galio mid in the first place? If you look closely he just wants that 3rd plate. He has kalli leesin on the drake and is ahead gold. Its their drake, so he's just trying to do something else. The reason why it isn't a good play, is because you can not galio r while noct r is present. But if you notice noct ults after Faker is already ulting away. If he had simply pressed Noct r right as tf stunned him. He's just guaranteed dead. Now you might wonder okay, but then why does T1 slam them so hard then? Literally just look at ezreal. He shifts forwards, vs a naut with flash and wow does Keria capitalize. This shouldnt be faker being glorized if anyone, its keria salvaging the play. In reality though the ezreal is just running it down here. Explain to me how you're gonna win a fight when your only carry champ whos there is just insta one shot without using flash.

His one ult play cost DK 2 ults used 2 DK members killed 2 DK flashes used and a dragon with max exp gain because of contest radius. If he doesn't ult there he dies mid best case scenario t1 loses mid but gets drag worst case scenario dk 5v4 whipes T1 and gets drag or tower. Hope that helps, you can't look at it at face value
it makes sense if you see the more ove what happens at the beginning, he baits the nocturne mid basically and helps secure dragon fight

Yeah that’s kind of the point, this was the only option to live, but the reason it was a bait is because Faker should and definitely was aware that they had kill pressure on him there in mid, BEFORE he stepped up there. He drew DK to the mid lane while dragon was up and then made nocturne waste ult. The rest of DK was scattered and not in position to contest resulting in T1 getting drag and wiping them. This being the only solution doesn’t make it less impressive, it makes it more impressive that he can see the one possibility left to succeed.

Faker has WAY better plays that shows his insane mechanics that prove he is a genius. This wasn't a timing, or chess move, he saw his team at dragon and simply ult'd to them, Nocturne ult'd right after that. Faker couldn't have predicted that. He just did what needed to be done as a tank.

The play was to make it look like he was trolling under tower without respecting Nocturne R, baiting Nocturne R so it couldn't be used on the fight to deny his R which would otherwise be used to kill jump the Kalista. Overall winning his team the fight because blue team is forced into such a poor position. But sure, if you want to simplify it it was just "pressing R and tanking a dragon while his team carried".

@@taps4342 Faker was definitely trying to draw multiple DK members to let the rest of T1 get dragon. He was also clearly hoping to use his ult to escape. It was lucky that Noct ulted right after, but Faker waited for TF to blow all his cc and immediately ulted out. If he even took the time to walk out of turret range he would have died from noct, but instead tanked 2 shots to channel R. I think that this is because he was well aware nocturne was probably about to ult. So yeah there was some luck in there but he definitely was very aware and did exactly as he intended to initially
