How to Unclog Hair from Tub, Shower, Sink in 10 Minutes! Use Zep

- Hair clogs are dissolved and removed from drains and pipes as you wait with Zep 10 Minute Hair Clog Remover.
It has a hair dissolving formula for bathroom showers, bath tubs and sinks that is effective on hair in the drain like a sink clog or bathtub clog. It is safer to use than the caustic drain cleaners and is much more effective than the popular “As seen on TV” products.
Zep 10 Minute Hair Clog Remover works best at night or when the tub will not be used for a bit. Pour six ounces of the cleaner in the drain and wait ten minutes. Then flush briefly with cold water and wait for the night. Two to three doses of this will clean most drains.
Start with several six-ounce treatments at one time to clear longer drain lines. The tub drain line usually runs from the drain in the tub to behind the toilet. This distance can vary from two feet to eight feet.
Even though the tub will seem to drain well soon, I recommend using several doses of Zep. A partially cleaned drain will flow great and most customers will quit the treatments. The problem is the drain line will clog again in six months or so. Additional doses will clean the pipe enough that the problem will be solved for a much longer time.

Wow, this product really works exactly the way the dude said and showed.

Thank you for your great unclogging advice!!!! I tried everything, but when i tried this Zep brand + your advice it worked!!! In my case, I poured it down the overflow opening. That just seemed to be the sweet spot for this clog.

My bathrm sink had been clogged for a couple of days. About an hour ago I googled “how to unclog a sink”,and came across this vid. Needless to say, i tried it, with a different product I already had. Initially didnt seem to work, and in the midst of me saying “sorry Mr. Hardware, but this doesnt work”, I heard a kibd of SLUUURP sound (lol), and the dang water was gone!!! I was so happy, I did the happy dance . Thnk u Mr. Hardware. Now, how do I fix my disposal? 😂
You need to use an enzyme drain opener, most of the caustic ones will harm the disposal.

I use Power Plumber which is like a blast of air/water to blow out the clog. No chemicals!
You can also carefully use a plunger if the clogs get too hard.
What are the caustics in that drain cleaner so I can find a similar brand in the uk

Mr. Hardware , I bought The ZEP and it worked🤗! I believe the first owner never cleaned her drain. My hair was bad enough but this stuff worked wonders! I just need to find a mesh stopper so the hair won’t find it’s way back where it was👍🏼

Cured glue may be permanent, check w the manufacture to see if it can be softened
Is it safe to use with septic tanks ?
Usually, yes. By the time it reacts w/hair and crud it is basically inert by the time it hits the tank. Pouring gallons directly into the tank will ruin the biology working in there, after all the buildup between the drain and the tank as long as you only do this monthly or less I don’t see a problem.

Is it bad on pipes, like Drano?
Actually Drano isn’t hard on pipes unless you’re putting it in so often that there is no crud in the drain for the Drano to react with. Enzyme drain cleaner is not caustic like Hair Care or Drano but works much slower.
@@MrHardware1 Oh, okay. Thanks. The maintenance crew at our apartment building keep telling us not to put any Drano or Liquid Plumr down our pipes because they said it damages the pipes.

Why doesn't the product tell you to push the drain cleaner from the trap with a little water. Doesn't deluding the product with added water diminish it's effectiveness? I'm curious.
You are correct, I don’t know why they don’t have you chase it through the trap. Most drain cleaners are strong enough that a diluted chaser of water doesn’t cut enough to prevent it from opening the drain some. Couple doses followed with the chaser allows you to get the drain cleaner to go to for 8 feet or so that a lateral pipe usually measures. I have found too much drain cleaner in the beginning of a long clogged pipe loosens up too much crud and it goes into the pipe that’s already clogged and clogged it worse.
@@MrHardware1 That's for your quick reply back to my message. I realize that the P-trap retains much of the chemical when you pour in the drain cleaner. I would always purchase a 64 ounce container and dump the entire contents, one application, to compensate for that loss. Until I saw your excellent video, coupled by the manufacturer omitting that from the label, never realized that I could clear my drain using far less product. I will definitely try your great idea. I always have to do my kitchen and bathroom sink at least once a year as they both start to drain slowly. I never wait until they clog completely. Two 64 ounces bottles of Pequa is pretty pricy! Lol.
Would this product destroy brass fittings please?
No, but as w/any drain cleaner I only use it until the drain is flowing. Some extremist’s use harsh chemicals too often and eventually it does eat away metal drain lines. Acidic acid from vinegar and tomato juice eat away at cast-iron drain lines in my neighborhood that was built in the 50s. Kind of a funny is that it was mostly Italian households that had the sewer line under the kitchen sink received the most damage from this situation.
Use it to get the lines open and once they’re moving and you want to use maintenance, use the enzyme type drain cleaner where you put it in at night with warm water and it lives off the organics in the line and opens the drains that way with no damage to the Plumbing at all .

Is this better than drano?
We like the Hair Clog product because of the thousands of happy customers. It is superior to grocery store drain cleaners

These only work for minor clogs. If you have years of build up only one way to clear it, snake it to the main and best to take the trap off and snake directly into the lateral cross pipe. Zep will help short term, but clogs build up where the pipe meets the main sewer line, Zep won't do much for that, you'll just be back to a 80% clogged pipe until your next backup.
What if you have a tub where the metal part of the drain won’t come out ? I rent a double wide and my shower takes like 3 hours to drain down . Can’t remove anything , landlord won’t fix it
