Just a heads up to everyone wanting to play the reno shaman deck, wiRer, the creator of the deck has updated the list, here are the changes from what u see in the video:
- doomhammer, chisel and finley
+ glacial shard, trusty companion and amalgam of the deep
changes feel pretty good imo, doomhamer and chisel were a bit too much weapon stuff, i also see some people putting in steamcleaner to deal with plagues in the ETC or sometimes in the deck.

I play a secret mage / excavation mage combo in Standard atm.
Since I had no bonus stars on standard (I only played wild / twist before and sadly the *9 bonus does only count for those) I can't say how it will play out in the higher tiers.
But until now, I played maybe 30 games and have a winrate of something like 3/4. But some of these wins were against players that played bad.
I rushed to diamond 5 in 4 daya with this deck (4 days of morning play) there are a lot and i mean A LOT of bad players because there are a ton of returning players atm
Having a great time with Plague DK.
Currently upping my star rating/bonus for next season, mid gold atm, will aim for Legend next month.
I do wonder if Famished Fool is worth playing. Insane draw power, and doesn't have the low spell cost.

I made it to rank 1 gold over the weekend with reno hunter. Its a verryyyy expensive deck like 7-8 legendaries but its a very fun deck ti me

I been crushing it with excavate DK , never a fan of them since release but now I'm reach 500 wins with dk
Control warrior was a thing for one single expansion, after getting multiple buffs.
Now all their new cards are completely useless, but that goes for most excavate packages
not really, control warrior is probably the strongest deck now, but REALLY hard to play. have like an 80% winrate against dk, 80+% against druid, 60-70% against dh, 50+% against paladin. Sif mage is really tricky tho, hunter too, it's really easy to overcommit and get punished, aggro decks rarely stand a chance, except like high roll with paladin. If you missplay you easly lose, so there is that.
Hopefully all the excavate packages will get buffed pretty soon

You actually lose more on low ranks then high plat to legend :D
You can play them in XXL version but problem is that excavate just to expensive when you have cheaper and better options. Like cmon 3 mana execute excavate card.. :D Plate 8 or plate 6 with excavate.
Its still fcking strong deck. There really isnt something that counters you. Half of the matchups are coin flips. Like if you have early removal against paladin etc.
I posted it in bug reports too, but the plague DK recommendation might be screwed (maybe just against Rheastraza?) But i played against a druid last night who used 2 Rheastrazas while their deck was confirmed nearly 10 plagues.
Whats your opinion on the new Reno hero card? Think it's broken? I think the cost is way too cheap for effect. Both a poof and a turn skip. It should at least clear both boards and limit each player for one turn.
too cheap? 90% of the games don't even get to turn 8 with the meta we're win. Like 80% of the games end by turn 6 due to 2 sea giants coming down or dragon golem being played
why is there a kobold miner in the palladin deck?

IMO Freya is super understated in Reno Druid. You can get two Reno’s and so much more value…
But do you really need that extra value, when you have Reastrasza?
I'm a returning player from 2018 and I'm really interested in getting more signature and diamond cards. What's the best way to go about that? what packs should i be buying? Should I be getting the golden showdown bundles or is it possible to find these in regular standard packs (ie the regular showdown bundles)?

Which deck exactly would you recommend a newbie? I can’t choose for myself. People say there are mostly warlocks everywhere? But will it change after the nerf? I just thought maybe it’s a good idea to craft a deck that counters the most popular ones or get those decks itself.

That hunter/handbuff deck is fairly cheap. Also aggro pally. Treant druid is low deck cost also.
You can climb stupid fast with pure aggro ( especially with high lander decks roaming about)
At diamond-legend there's already very few Warlocks with the temporary 6-mana nerf to Snake. On my climb I came up against a lot of Combo Hunter, Dragon Druid, Naga DH and Control Warrior.
My advice for the cheapest deck is Dragon Druid (with Snapdragon and Dragon Golem). Also, Plague DK is solid, and only needs 2 legendaries, Helya and Reska. It also counters certain Highlander decks.
Dragon druid, is probably the best "Bang for your buck" you can get right now dust wise for a competitive deck, but I would heavily recommend waiting a week, let the balance patch hit. you never know, the deck could get nerfed.
@@LucasM987 thanks, I thought about Druid because I got a 8/8 dragon legendary from new packs, I checked popular decks, there are two dragon Druids, one (with Reno) is insanely expensive, tons of legendaries. The other is OK dust-wise, but I think it’s probably just worse and I will regret crafting it because most druids will be Reno? Idk

Im honest here but this Aggro-Pal list seems unoptimal. I mean in my experience the true powerhouse of the Aggro archetype is the 10mana palaspell and Kotori which both are not in the List
2 neutrals in form of Seegiant seems too risky for Purepal and disables Early Countess or may force you to play Order in the Court when the boardstate/hand is not optimal

Even at 6 mana the snake still puts all other control value decks behind because they have all the time in world to play the snake, so i think it should not be a battlecry
You can steal it with priest, i always beat warlock with it, even when the snake was 4 mana.
You have some counter to remove it from hand. Otherwise youre right, 6 mana nerf is just a emergency nerf that the game is viable. In next weeks they will rework this card.
Maybe just deal damage with lifesteal, maybe reduce the steal to 5 to 8. Anyway this card will change soon again.
I think they will nerf it to deal damage and not steal health, otherwise it's gonna be praying to hit the snake on dirty rat/theotar (or hope aggro can mitigate excavate warlock)

Always prefer getting to legend with my home brew decks. More fun than the netdecks and gives my opponents something new to play against instead of the endless copy and paste decks.

the best decks are all rogue lists and dh where he cheats the hell out of his deck (the current meta deck)

This set is almost as weak as rastakhan's rumble. I'm struggling to even complete the weekly 5 win quest because I don't want to play ladder, its so same old.

So far this expansion seems extremely weak and very low impact (outside of the already nerfed Warlock snake deck).
I don't know what they were thinking with all these do nothing legendaries which have very weak effects that don't ever win a game. The biggest meme being Warrior again of course getting a 4 mana do nothing that will never be playable for the history of the game because it has the excavate keyword on it. This seems like a setup expansion for next expansion and I absolutely hate that.

Very poorly designed expansion ,fully preordered but still need legendaries from former expansions to get good decks for most classes. Only winner druid . And paladin of course always the best class.

This game is so bad. It's so unfun, uninteractive and random. Doesn't matter what you do, there is always someone who will generate a wincon. Just a joke of a game. The devs don't even care, they're complicit with the state of the game. It's shameful. Wild is a hellscape, consuming thought and fun unending.
