Hmm it sounds like some sort of threading issue with the loopers. My first recommendation would be to ensure the lower looper thread is sitting above the upper looper thread when you are sewing as I know that can cause some issues. My second recommendation would be to try to fully rethread the machine. It shouldn't matter if you are using a three or four thread stitch, so however you are threading it I would try to take everything out and start over and then do some test stitches. Hopefully that helps some!
