Most people would say that church is a place for events, such as weddings, funerals, baptisms, baby dedications, or prayer meetings. But first and foremost, church (the occasion of God’s people meeting together) should be a place for change. In fact, did you know that the word repent carries the meaning of changing one’s mind? The last paragraph of Acts chapter 2 could be titled How the Church Changed Their City. Let’s examine how this change was a five-fold work.

Thanks Pastor Skip - near the end of your sermon you were saying that no experience on this earth - treasure, pleasure, fame, or relationship - can fully satisfy us and that only God and a relationship with Jesus will truly give rest to our souls. And it reminded me of a song by a famous singer Peggy Lee called “Is that all there is” from 1969. She sings about various worldly experiences and the lyrics end with the words “If that’s all there is my friends, then let’s keep dancing , let’s break out the booze and have a ball. If that’s all there is.” And sadly many people see life that way . I did myself once. But thanks be to God we have a living hope through our Lord Jesus Christ and can look forward to breathing the fresh air of Heaven - drink the living water that flows from His Holy Throne - walk broad golden seashores - and gaze upon the faces of loved ones once again. And fulfill the purpose for which He created us in the first place - to worship Him in the beauty of holiness and enjoy Him forever!!

I agree there is no perfect church. That alone is not a reason to leave a church. When every single church is attacking you. I mean literally attacking you. That is a reason to leave the church. That is no reason to leave God. Search for another until you find it. One that doesn't attack you. For speaking the truth of what the bible actually says.

Before GOD MADE GREAT SIGNS, WONDERS, AND MIRACLES Churches in first century surrendered their all to HOUSE OF GOD (Acts 2:42-47;4;32-37).
If not surrendered our all to GOD, then the devil with all power, signs, and lying wonder will be performed (2Tes. 2:9-12).
