I worked there 7 years ago one summer on the overnight crew as the store was getting a facelift. And I remember that manager. I remember he didn’t really joke around and laugh with employees like that, he was pretty strict, some had issues with him, and he never spoke to me. But one day he did. When I was leaving to go back out to sea he said “Aww you leaving?” And he smiled at me. I was like “yeah, i gotta go back on the water.” That was like the only time I ever saw him smile for real.
Walmart’s work environment is so toxic, supervisor’s put so much pressure on the store managers and it just trickles down the employee hierarchy, I work at a Walmart as a retail associate and I can just tell when my team lead &/or department manager just got done being chewed out by the way their body language is and the way the address us when we have meetings. I think everybody should have a plan when they step out in public and go in public places like stores. Always have an exit strategy and look for a places to hide. Is very important that everyone stays vigilant and keep a track of your surroundings. If intuition tells you a person is suspicious or you have an intuitive vibe, definitely leave the store. In today's world you always have to prepare for your safety. There's not enough mental health out there to help people or people are too afraid to seek help and this is what happens.
for the last few years now i often go into supermarkets with the thought someone could lose their cool and run up in here. i would wear headphones in grocery stores but no longer do, so i’m as aware as i can be with my surroundings. it’s dumb but you never know what person is gonna feel the need to unleash their anger on the innocent

No Red Flag Laws in Virginia. Walmart has no healthcare plan for their employees either, so no covered mental healthcare or screenings. They give their new employees a packet with instructions on how to apply for Medicaid because they know the pay level is low enough to qualify.

I am working at a Walmart we have somebody at our store just like that. When he said they are a nitpicker. That brought some attention to me. I don't even be around this person in the store. We have the same formula the same.
I'm sure this was over gossip. From what one of the other survivors said this manager (suspect) was not exactly well liked and he was known to be a Karen type of person so I'm sure all that gossip and rumors got back to him and he just snapped.

I worked there 7 years ago one summer on the overnight crew as the store was getting a facelift. And I remember that manager. I remember he didn’t really joke around and laugh with employees like that, he was pretty strict, some had issues with him, and he never spoke to me. But one day he did. When I was leaving to go back out to sea he said “Aww you leaving?” And he smiled at me. I was like “yeah, i gotta go back on the water.” That was like the only time I ever saw him smile for real.

Walmart’s work environment is so toxic, supervisor’s put so much pressure on the store managers and it just trickles down the employee hierarchy, I work at a Walmart as a retail associate and I can just tell when my team lead &/or department manager just got done being chewed out by the way their body language is and the way the address us when we have meetings. I think everybody should have a plan when they step out in public and go in public places like stores. Always have an exit strategy and look for a places to hide. Is very important that everyone stays vigilant and keep a track of your surroundings. If intuition tells you a person is suspicious or you have an intuitive vibe, definitely leave the store.
In today's world you always have to prepare for your safety.

I'm sure this was over gossip. From what one of the other survivors said this manager (suspect) was not exactly well liked and he was known to be a Karen type of person so I'm sure all that gossip and rumors got back to him and he just snapped.
Guy is just a regular dude and he knows it. He's not amazing or special. So don't get comments praising him. I do think he's funny and folksy says things like how some old people say things raw.
