On a quiet field you will hear the softer tones easier because there is less distraction from junk and mineralization, so if your ears are in good shape you don't really need to make it that much stronger, AR does not add depth, but a bit higher setting is good in any scenario if you struggle to catch those deeper whispery tones. Hope that helps.
Hello, started using xp deus, just got back from the trashy area and started contemplating what I could do better with the settings. I find it difficult to hear those deeper good signals in the trashy area, I had the audio response set at 3, but now I am thinking about higher AR 6-7, should it work out by amplifying those deeper signals? XY screen will show me if it's deep or shallow anyways
Interesting question. I honestly think you're not hearing the deeper targets is because the shallower targets are masking them. You can try raising audio response all the way, but EVERYTHING will be super loud, even the shallow ones. Plus going up to 7 can bring some interference in unless you're on a really quiet field. You may want to check out my videos on using IAR (Iron Amplitude Rejection) as this tries to ignore the shallow targets and go for the deeper stuff.
I find AR 4 to be just right for me, slap bang in the middle of the scale. I have one exception, if I have fresh stubble that's too stiff for my arm I put the AR up, because I want anything to punch into the earphones, I run this with a single high target tone. Obviously you accept that you may dig a bit more iron but that's a trade off for finding targets. It's crude, but effective when you can't get the coil closer to the ground ATB MMMD
Thanks will check out on programs what there all in, i been playing with your Magnum program with the 11inch x35 i cannot try the 28.8hz on that coil so what do you recommend many used 17 and 12hz so far,
I think 17 will work fine for you. If you’re searching for smaller coins or relics you can bump it up to the next frequency. I usually run anywhere between 14-28.
@@GrantHansen I do have some fields to try again quieter so maybe i bump the audio up and try 17 or try 4hz all over maybe head 4 is deeper. its pasture grass land. buttons and horse shoes so far, must be something there,
Helpful info indeed!
Grant you are a credit to the Xp team! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Great video, so very helpful!
Thanks Steve!
Great tip. I need to remember to adjust my Audio Response up on quiet fields.
For sure... crank it up a bit!

There are plenty of Deus users in Ohio. I'm sure one would let you try it out.

Cool. Glad to hear it works for you. I definitely under utilized with most users.
Wondering what shovel that is it looks nice and light
It’s a Predator Tools, Piranha model. Best all around shovel in my opinion.
